Arizona Cardinals vs New York Giants – game predictions

Here are our Cardinals vs Giants predictions. For more of our NFL betting tips and NFL player props suggestions follow these links.

Prediction 1: Saquon Barkley over 16.5 rushing attempts @ -125 (4/5)

Saquon Barkley had 12 carries for the Giants in Week 1 but we expect to see his usage increased significantly in the coming match. The main reason the Giants lost so badly vs the Cowboys were the many turnovers and interceptions. So, it seems their gameplan for Week 2 will be different and the focus will be on using the running game much more, which means mainly Barkley, to limit the turnovers. Naturally, this should see Barkley’s rushing attempts going up and that’s why we think he will make at least 17 in the coming match.

Prediction 2: Saquon Barkley touchdown anytime @ -125 (4/5)

We stay with Barkley for our second Cardinals vs Giants betting tip. The Giants were the only team in the entire NFL not to score in Week 1. This will make them even more determined to do so now and as we explained above the increased use of Saquon Barkley makes him the player most likely to record a touchdown at any time during the match.

Cardinals vs Giants preview – can somebody stop Saquon?

The Giants will be desperate to reduce their giveaways and the easiest way to do that is to put the ball in the hands of Saquon Barkley and let him run. Will the Cardinals be ready for that?

Arizona Cardinals form, news and injuries

The Cardinals played a decent game on the road in Week 1 and were a bit unfortunate to lose 16-20 vs Washington. James Connor was effective in the running game but the backup QB Dobbs never managed to connect with his star WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown on a big play and this was why the game was lost.

The Cardinals will continue mixing it up with bold throws towards Brown and a lot of running from Connor. They don’t have enough offensive weapons though and need Dobbs and Brown to come up with at least one big connection in a match if they are to win.

New York Giants form, news and injuries

After the humiliation in Week 1, the Giants will be raring to bounce back and the expectations are that they will lean on their solid defensive game and Barkley’s running abilities.

The Giants should have a decisive advantage in the line of scrimmage too, even if the questionable OT Andrew Thomas can’t play. Leaning on their solid defence and bleeding time with lots of rushes is likely to be the gameplan for New York as they try to avoid a 0-2 hole.

New York Giants injury report:

  • WR Wan’Dale Robinson – questionable
  • OT Andrew Thomas – questionable
  • LB Azeez Ojulari – questionable
  • TE Tommy Sweeney – out
