She has reached the semi-final stage in the last two iterations of the singles competition and was the doubles champion alongside Coco Gauff.
Pegula will surely have the marker on her back this time around and will be gunning to prove the naysayers wrong.
Jessica Pegula’s next match – Miami Open quarter-final vs Ekaterina Alexandrova
Both players are poised to bring their A-game to the court in the quarter-final clash between Jessica Pegula and Ekaterina Alexandrova at the Miami Open. Pegula, coming off a solid victory over Emma Navarro in straight sets, displayed resilience in overcoming a hiccup in the first set that went to a tiebreaker.
On the other hand, Ekaterina Alexandrova enters the quarter-final match riding high on confidence after causing the upset of the Miami Open with a straight-set victory over world number 1 and Indian Wells champion, Iga Swiatek.

Jessica Pegula’s 2024 campaign
Despite being born in extreme wealth Jessica Pegula has always been one of the hardest-working players on the Tour. Happily married and not worried about money, Jess has focused all her energy on doing what she loves to do and this is playing tennis.
Her 2023 campaign was one of the best of her career, given that she won a couple of titles, but the issue for Pegula remains her lack of Grand Slam success since she has yet to go past quarter-finals at any of the majors.
Pegula didn’t have a great start to her 2024 season. While she reached the semi-finals at the Adelaide Open, she followed that with a debacle at the Australian Open where she lost to Clara Burel in the second round.
Current WTA ranking – where is Pegula on the WTA rankings?
Jessica Pegula is ranked fifth in the world at the moment. Her career high was 3rd, but she’s also a very good double player. In fact, she even reached the top spot in double rankings, although she is currently ranked 12th.
