Just like Sabrina Ionescu her long-term boyfriend and now fiance Hroniss Grasu is an American with Romanian ancestry. Born in Northridge, California on December 8, 1991, the 32-year-old attended the same Oregon College as Sabrina. He was on an American Football scholarship and the Center is now in his 7th season at the NFL. Drafted in 2015 by the Chicago Bears he spent 2 seasons in the Windy City before playing for a year for the 49ers and then 2 years for Baltimore. Currently, Grasu is in his second season with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Hroniss Grasu was named an All-State offensive linesman during his High School years. At that stage, ESPN considered him a three-star recruit and multiple Colleges wanted to add him to their American Football programs.
Grasu chose Oregon in the end. During his college career, Grasu was a solid player. He made the First Team All-Pac-12 selection and was named First Team All-American twice.
In 2015 he declared himself for the NFL Draft and the Chicago Bears picked him with the 71st pick. He played in 14 NFL matches in his 2 years with the Bears.
Grasu then moved to several teams between 2017 and 2021. Eventually, he found a new proper home with the Las Vegas Raiders. In his NFL career, Grasu has played in 31 games, starting in 17 of those.

In mid-January 2023 Hroniss Grasu and Sabrina Ionescu got engaged. The scene surrounding the engagement included a backdrop of flowers and elevated candles, as well as a heart-shaped collection of candles. This was all arranged by Hroniss Grasu in advance and eventually in the middle of the heart-shaped candle display he proposed.

Since their engagement, the couple haven’t had that much time together. Ionescu plays for New York Liberty, while Grasu is on the other coast with the Las Vegas Raiders. Still, the freshly engaged couple found time to visit their alma mater in Oregon where they made gifts to the Oregon Ducks football squad. The couple gave every player of the Ducks customised Beats headphones. Every headphone came with the message: “You have everything you need to get the job done. Give everything to your preparation and trust each other. Go earn it all.”
It is widely expected that Ionescu and Grasu will have their wedding late in 2023 or around the anniversary of their engagement in January.
