NFL Week 2 game headlines

Here is a look at the storylines heading into the 16 games this week.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Minnesota Vikings (TNF)

Will Kirk Cousins falter in prime time again? The Eagles beat Minnesota 24-7 last year in Week 2.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Green Bay Packers

A surprising meeting between 1-0 teams, the Falcons will look to feature running back Bijan Robinson again as Jordan Love makes his 3rd start for the Packers.

Buffalo Bills vs. Las Vegas Raiders

The Bills gave away the game to the Jets, so Josh Allen will need to be much better against a Vegas team that moved the ball well in Denver.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Bengals lost 24-3 in Cleveland after the least effective game of Joe Burrow’s career. The Ravens finally have Lamar Jackson back for one of these critical AFC North matchups.

Detroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks won 48-45 in Detroit last year, but the Lions looked like the better team in Week 1 and will be looking for revenge at home.

Houston Texans vs. Indianapolis Colts

The Texans were 1-0-1 against the Colts last year, but this is the first meeting between rookie quarterbacks Anthony Richardson and C.J. Stroud.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Travis Kelce and Chris Jones figure to be back for the Chiefs, who swept Jacksonville last year. The Jaguars hope Calvin Ridley gives them more firepower in this shootout.

Tennessee Titans vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Both teams lost in Week 1 and will look to rebound. The Chargers got by Tennessee 17-14 last year in a game where Ryan Tannehill was injured.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Chicago Bears

The Bears have lost 11 games in a row now. The Buccaneers had an upset win in Minnesota, scoring 20 points on the road in Baker Mayfield’s debut.

Arizona Cardinals vs. New York Giants

We’ll see if the Cardinals can get the pass rush going against the team that lost 40-0 last week.

Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers

A surprise meeting of 1-0 teams, the Rams are 1-8 against the 49ers since 2019, only prevailing in the 2021 NFC Championship Game.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Jets

The Jets have to survive without Aaron Rodgers (Achilles), but Zach Wilson could be in for a rough afternoon against a Dallas defense that sacked Daniel Jones 7 times in a 40-0 rout.

Denver Broncos vs. Washington Commanders

Sean Payton will look to avoid starting 0-2 at home for Denver. The Commanders just got by Arizona in Week 1, the first game with offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins

Bill Belichick will try to work his defensive magic to slow down a red-hot Tyreek Hill, who had 215 yards in Week 1. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is the only quarterback to win 4 straight games against Belichick’s Patriots.

Carolina Panthers vs. New Orleans Saints (MNF)

The Saints have gone 8 straight games without allowing more than 18 points. The Panthers have lost their last 51 games when trailing in the fourth quarter.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns (MNF)

The Browns can drop the Steelers to 0-2 at home, but Pittsburgh is 20-0 on Monday Night Football home games since 1992.
