Tennessee Titans vs Los Angeles Chargers – game predictions
Contents
The Chargers are going East to Tennessee as a -2.5 point favorites against the Titans at the Nissan Stadium.
Prediction 1: Under 45.5 points @ -110 (1.90)
The main reason for this prediction is the fact that the Titans and the Chargers played under 45.5 points in 5 of the last 6 games against each other, including the last three straight. The Chargers are offensively oriented team that scored 34 points in a loss last week, on 9-od-15 on 3rd and had no turnovers. Austin Ekeler had 16 running attempts, 117 yards on 7.3 yards per carry and is out for this game. That is a huge blow for the Chargers’ offense.
The Chargers will go against the Titans, who are one of the better defensive teams in the league. They allowed only 16 points to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, but still lost. Deandre Hopkins had 7 interceptions for the Titans but he is listed as questionable for this game, a status that is closer to out. Without him, the Titans offense will not be able to connect as usual and they will not score much.
Prediction 2: Mike Williams under 4.5 receptions @ -110 (1.90)
Williams is one of the veteran wide receivers on the Chargers as he is entering his seventh season in the NFL. He had a great game in Week 1 with 4 interceptions against the Dolphins. Last season, Williams totaled 63 receptions in 13 appearances or 4.8 per game. The line is put right in place at 4.5 which will not be reachable for Williams in this one. The Titans have excellent defense and are aware that cutting Williams is one of the key tasks in order to win which will keep him to no more than 4 receptions.
