Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts prediction and odds

Both teams are coming off big losses in Week 1 of the season. Another thing is common is the fact that both the Texans and Colts have rookies for starting quarterbacks. Last season, the Texans won the AFC South clash, but that was only their second win in the last 10 games against the Colts.

Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts – game predictions

The Texans are hosting the Colts as a -1 point favorites against at the NRG Stadium.

Prediction 1: Colts to win @ 100 (2.00)

This will probably be one of the more exciting games in Week 2. The Texans played solid defense in the opener in Baltimore but still had no chance against the mighty Ravens. Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud felt what it is like to start in the big league as he was sacked five times and got hit twice as much. The Colts had the lead going into the final quarter against the Jaguars but then lost the last period by 14-0. Their rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson had 242 yards, a touchdown and an interception which is quite impressive for a first NFL game. He seems better than Stroud at this point and that would be the difference maker in this game. The Titans won by a point last season and the Colts will pay them back on Sunday.

Prediction 2: Over 39.5 points @ -110 (1.90)

Last season the matchup between the Texans and the Colts saw 63 points in total. We don’t expect as many on Sunday, but the 39.5 line is too low for this game. Both teams see this as a real opportunity to get the W and will be very aggressive on both ends. This game will look like a bar fight at moments and there will be plenty of scoring especially early on in the game which will put at least 40 points on the scoreboard.

Texans vs Colts preview – Who gets the first win this season?

The Colts spilled the opening game away and now will have a chance to win against a team that won only three games last season. However, the Texans have learned their lesson and look like a much more competive team this time around.

Houston Texans form, news and injuries

The Texans lost by 16 in the opener against the Ravens but they deserve the credit for the fight they put. They could not find the way to the end zone, which at the end of the day is the most important, but were pretty solid on the defensive end. Rookie quarterback CJ Stroud had a connection with Robert Woods and Nico Collins who combined for 12 receptions.

Indianapolis Colts form, news and injuries

Anthony Richardson had a promising first game in the big league with 242 passing yards. The highlight of the game was him reaching the end zone and that is the confidence we want to see from a rookie quarterback. The Colts were very close to win the opener against the Jaguars despite the final score of 31-21.
