The 2023 NBA draft night certainly belonged to Victor Wembanyama, the towering 7’4” No. 1 overall pick from France who will play for the San Antonio Spurs next season. As expected, he was the first player to have his name called, but some basketball fans who tuned into the broadcast also had another Wembanyama grab their attention.

It is not uncommon for viewers of the NFL or NBA draft to be spellbound by a player’s girlfriend or mother on their special night, but this time it was Victor Wembanyama’s sister Eve who went viral at the draft.

Eve is Wembanyama’s older sister, and she was at his side along with his younger brother Oscar, who is only 15 but already measured over 6’6”.

It did not take long for fans to start posting memes of Zion Williamson eying up the oldest Wembanyama sibling, but the good news for Victor is he will be in San Antonio instead of New Orleans next season.

Eve, who is 6’1”, is also a basketball player. She has played for France in the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship and FIBA U20 Women’s European Challengers. In 2020, she played for the LDLC ASVEL Feminin club as part of the EuroLeague Women league.

She can expect a big boost to her social media pages, including her Instagram account that has over 18,000 followers (and counting).

It was an all-around huge night for the Wembanyama family, and everyone from the bettors who took Victor at -20000 odds to go No. 1 to new admirers of his sister Eve has to feel good about the start of the NBA career for this French phenom.
