The Lakers play their first home game of the new NBA 2023-24 season on Thursday, October 26th. They host the formidable Phoenix Suns in a match that promises to excite. LeBron vs Durant and a bunch of other All-Stars on the court guarantee an entertaining opening game for the Laker Nation.
Will the Lakers play on Christmas Day?
Not only the LA Lakers will play on Christmas Day but they will be involved in an epic battle against their bitterest of foes the Boston Celtics. What better gift one can want from the NBA Commissioner but a Celtics – Lakers clash, the most storied NBA rivalry in history, right on Christmas Day!
The NBA on Christmas Day will feature five games, with ABC or ESPN televising each matchup.

Other unmissable LA Lakers matches during the 2023-24 season
October 25th away vs the Nuggets: this opening-night clash will see the Lakers travel to Denver and witness the new NBA Champions lifting their banner and receiving their rings. The Lakers were swept in the Western Conference final by the Nuggets so there will be some animosity once play begins, no doubt about that.
November 01st at home vs the Clippers: This match will be the first LA derby of the season. With the Lakers badly beaten in most regular season clashes between the sides this might be an opportunity for LeBron and Co to change the script.
January 27th away vs the Warriors: This will be the first meeting between the Lakers and the Warriors of the season. There is no need for any extra introduction to know that a highly-charged contest will transpire. This is guaranteed every time LeBron travels to Golden State where Steph Curry and Draymond Green are always ready to battle.
