Boston Celtics vs Philadelphia 76ers – Game Predictions
Contents
For the first time since 2020, the Celtics and the Sixers are going against each other in the Playoffs, which is actually the most played series in Playoff history. Four games into the series, the score is tied at 2-2. The feeling is that the Celtics are the better team in the series but they will have to prove that on the floor in the upcoming Game 5 in Boston.
Prediction 1: Boston Celtics to Cover the Spread (-7)
The Boston Celtics are coming back home after a difficult loss in Philly. They had the lead in the final minute of the game and had potential game-winners in both regulation and overtime. Joe Mazzulla’s team will have to leave that game behind and focus on this one since they need to play their best basketball. The Celtics will go strong from the tip-off and prove that they are the top candidate to win the championship for a reason. Boston’s defense will make the difference in this game and will lead the Celtics to a comfortable win covering the -7 point spread.
Prediction 2: Game total over 214 points
Three of the previous four games in the series went over this margin. The only one that ended under was Game 2 in which the Sixers had a terrible shooting night and lost by 34 to the Celtics. In the last game, both teams shot nearly 50% from the field and 40% from the three-point line. As the series progress, the defensive intensity will rise but still, 214 points is something these two teams will score in any given game. They both shoot many three-pointers with multiple players being able to shoot at high percentage. Both teams are excellent when it comes to free throw shooting and that is also a reason to go with over in Game 5.
Celtics vs 76ers Preview – Are the Sixers in the driver’s seat in the series?
The Sixers got the momentum with the dramatic win in Game 4 and now they are going to Boston with a chance to steal Game 5 and return for a potential decision game at home. Both Embiid and Harden will have to play at the highest possible level in order to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. The Celtics are still the better team in the series and the outcome of the next game will mostly depend on them.
Boston Celtics News, Injuries, and Starting Lineups
The Boston Celtics had two potential game-winners in the previous game. Marcus Smart was short on the first one and late on the second, and now the Celtics are going back to Boston with pressure on their back. They were the better team in the previous four games but that fact means nothing since the score is tied a 2 games apiece.
Boston Celtics Injury Report:
Danilo Gallinari is out for season.
Boston Celtics Starting Lineup:
Marcus Smart, Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Al Horford
Philadelphia 76ers News, Injuries, and Starting Lineups
The Sixers somehow survived Game 4 undefeated and now they have a standing chance against the Celtics. Joel Embiid is fully back and as it looks, the Sixers need James Harden to be on top of his game in order to defeat the Celtics. Harden went over 40 points in the two games the Sixers won in this series and he will need to step up once again to help the Sixers win.
Philadelphia 76ers Injury Report:
Doc Rivers will have the full roster available for Game 5 of the series.
Philadelphia 76ers Starting Lineup:
James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, PJ Tucker, Tobias Harris and Joel Embiid
