- 6 Bournemouth vs West Ham – Sunday, 2:00 pm
- 7 Newcastle vs Tottenham – Sunday, 2:00 pm
To the surprise of many, Fulham managed to stay in the top half of Premier League this entire season and while they did have a poor run recently with four losses in a row, they ended it last weekend with a win over Everton. Meanwhile, Leeds is currently fighting for survival and they are two points ahead of the first team in the relegation zone at the moment, so this will be an interesting matchup.
Our Prediction: Fulham 2-1 Leeds
Although Fulham is basically stuck in the middle of the standings, so they won’t have a strong motive in this match, they will want to notch another win in front of their fans. They will be without Kurzawa and Mitrovic once again, but they have enough quality and great team chemistry to pull off a win here.
Leeds needs points from this match and they will certainly come out fighting, so we can see them scoring, but we don’t see them avoiding a loss, especially with Dallas out with an injury and Bamford being questionable for this game.
Brentford vs Aston Villa – Saturday, 3:00 pm
With five wins in a row, Aston Villa shot up the standings and they are currently sitting in the sixth place in Premier League, which would guarantee them European football next season. On the other hand, Brentford is on a rough patch of form as they failed to win in the last five games in the league, losing three in a row in the last three rounds.
Our Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Aston Villa
Given the great run of form for the guests and the quality they have that has been showcased ever since Unai Emery took the coaching job at Villa, we can see the Lions getting the win here, especially with Brentford on a three-game losing streak. Both teams will miss some players, so that will even out in the game.
Brentford has done well this season and they’ve been impressive for stretches, but right now, they are just unable to get any points. With Aston Villa fighting for a spot in European competitions, we can see them winning, although we also see The Bees scoring in this one.
Crystal Palace vs Everton – Saturday, 3:00 pm
After staying undefeated for four matches in a row, Everton now lost in their last two games and they are right on the cusp of the relegation zone again. On the other hand, Crystal Palace won three games in a row now and they are sitting pretty much comfortably near the middle of the standings, nine points ahead of the first team in the relegation zone.
Our Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Everton
The main reason why we don’t see Palace winning this match is the absence of their best player Wilfred Zaha and the strong motive that Everton will have in this match. However, given Crystal Palace’s recent form during which they won three games in a row, we also don’t see The Toffees winning here. Hence, our prediction of a draw.
After all, Everton will also miss a few important players, including injured Coleman and Townsend, along with Doucoure, who is suspended. So, a draw seems like an outcome that will suit both teams to certain extent at this point.
Leicester vs Wolves – Saturday, 3:00 pm
Things aren’t going well at Leicester as the former champions try to survive this season in Premier League. However, five losses in the last six games, dealing with firing of Brendan Rodgers, and their poor performances overall this season all lead to The Foxes sitting in the relegation zone with six games left to play. Meanwhile, Wolves are doing well right now with three wins in the last six games.
Our Prediction: Leicester 2-0 Wolves
With Barnes, Pereira, and Evans all out with injuries, among others, Leicester will have to rely on some other players to bring them the much-needed win against Wolverhampton. The team is in horrible form right now, but if they don’t get the three points today, they might as well pack their bags for Championship and we feel that Leicester can find the strength in front of their fans to win this crucial game.
That being said, Wolverhampton has just one loss in the last six games in Premier League, so Leicester is in for another difficult game, but they are too good to be relegated in our opinion, so we can see them getting the points against Wolves.
Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest – Saturday, 3:00 pm
While Liverpool is hardly in great form right now as they’ve been inconsistent lately pretty much like they have been the entire season, Nottingham Forest is not doing any better. In fact, the guests have lost five of their last six matches in Premier League and they find themsleves in the relegation zone right now, which was pretty much expected from them before the season started.
Our Prediction: Liverpool 3-0 Nottingham Forest
In addition to their poor form, Nottingham Forest also has a lot of players on their injury list right now and all things considered, we can’t see them avoiding a loss at Liverpool. When we also take into account Liverpool’s last performances and the 6-1 battering of Leeds, we expect a convincing win for the home team here.
The question remains how convincing that win will be, whether Liverpool can repeat what they did last weekend or will the outcome of the game be more moderate compared to that one. We feel that a 3-0 win for the Reds is just the right measure.
Bournemouth vs West Ham – Sunday, 2:00 pm
The two teams enter this game separated by just two points and both of them still have reasons to fear relegation, although they managed to stay away from the relegation zone right now and get a bit of a breathing room. The home team is in better form, but the Hammers have also done reasonably well lately, although they’ve been inconsistent again.
Our Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 West Ham
Given that Bournemouth has four wins in the last six games and that they are hosting the match, it was hard to resist going with them to win this match. However, West Ham is arguably the better team and they need to avoid a loss here to prevent falling closer to the relegation zone, so we can see the game ending in a draw, with both teams scoring in it.
Neither of these teams is having major problems with injuries or suspensions, so that won’t affect the final outcome. Given their positions right now, a draw will likely please both teams.
Newcastle vs Tottenham – Sunday, 2:00 pm
The derby of the round will be played on Sunday with Newcastle hosting the Spurs in a match that could prove to be the deciding one in the race for Champions League for next season. Right now, Newcastle is three points ahead of Tottenham, with one fewer game played, with the home team sitting in the fourth and the Spurs in the fifth place in the standings.
Our Prediction: Newcastle 2-2 Totteham
After five wins in a row, Newcastle lost to Aston Villa in last round, pretty convincingly as well. However, the Spurs failed to take advantage of that as they lost at home to Bournemouth. Both teams will be without some important players, like Almiron and Saint-Maximin for Newcastle and Moura and Davies for Tottenham, among others.
All things considered, we expect an exciting duel with plenty of goals since both teams have been scoring and conceding at a high rate recently. When it comes to the final score, a 2-2 draw after a tough battle sounds realistic to us, but this is a match that could go either way really.
