Tottenham are all set for their first home Premier League match of the season on Sunday in what will be an unusual atmosphere at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with no Harry Kane around for the first time. Spurs got off to a decent start last weekend, drawing 2-2 with Brentford while Man Utd stumbled to a 1-0 home victory over Wolves. Can the Reds improve to land a statement away win early in the season or will Spurs be too much? Let’s take a look at our predictions.
The best Tottenham vs Man Utd predictions and picks

Tottenham to win
Although Spurs only drew their opening game of the season while Man Utd won, we are surprised to see Spurs start the game as the narrow underdogs with the bookmakers. Man Utd’s away form to top-half teams was diabolical last season nd they were extremely fortunate to beat Wolves at Old Trafford on Monday night. If both teams perform like they did on the opening weekend, we can only see a comfortable home win here.
Both teams to score
One thing that might benefit Erik Ten Hag’s men is the fact that Spurs are going to come out and play. They aren’t going to simply play on the counter-attack like Wolves did to great effect on Monday. United are at their best when they can play in transition and Spurs will allow them that luxury on Saturday which sets us up for an entertaining spectacle. We are expecting a ping-pong of a football match with both teams getting on the scoresheet.
Marcus Rashford to score anytime
Rashford was one of many United players to disappoint on Monday night but he could be back in his favoured position on Saturday which should suit him down to the ground. He excelled on the left-wing last season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions and he will be eager to prove that last week’s performance was a blip rather than the new norm.
Tottenham vs Man Utd: Life without Kane continues
Tottenham
Spurs started life under Ange Postecoglou with a spring in their step last week and will feel like they should have overcome Brentford. The star performers on the day were James Maddison, who chipped in with two assists, and Yves Bissouma who looked back to his best. Postecoglou is likely to field an unchanged eleven, providing Cristian Romero is passed fit.
Man Utd
Man Utd fans were left disappointed on Monday night thanks to their team’s poor performance against Wolves. Although they eventually got the win thanks to a late Raphael Varane header, United toiled and were lucky to avoid giving away a penalty at the end when Andre Onana clattered into Craig Dawson. Ten Hag is likely to shuffle his team around in light of that display but Rasmus Hojlund remains unavailable.
