The best Crystal Palace vs Arsenal predictions and picks

Draw

Although Arsenal are favourites with the bookmakers, we believe that this game is all set up for Crystal Palace to get a result. Buoyed by the news that Michael Olise has signed a new long-term contract with the club and the fact that they won last weekend, Selhurst Park will be at its brilliant best on Monday night which should push the Palace players into putting in an excellent performance.

Roy Hodgson is as experienced as they come and his preferred counter-attacking style of play should work a treat against the possession-heavy Arsenal.

Eddie Nketiah to score anytime

Eddie Nketiah received full backing from his Mikel Arteta last weekend when the Spaniard put him in from the start despite the temptation to use big-money signing, Kai Havertz, as a striker in Gabriel Jesus’ absence. Nketiah repaid Arteta’s faith with a goal in the match against Nottingham Forest and he is very much a confidence player. We expect him to kick on and get among the goals again on Monday night.

Over 2.5 goals

When Crystal Palace are allowed to play in transition, they are as threatening as any other team in the Premier League. Arsenal, who attack with numbers themselves, will absolutely allow Palace to play on the counter-attack which sets us up for plenty of chances at both ends of the pitch. Expect a flurry of goals from both sides in this one.

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal: Which team will stay at 100%?

Crystal Palace

Last weekend, Crystal Palace started life without Wilfried Zaha in the best possible way with a 1-0 victory away at Sheffield United. The goal game courtesy of Edouard who will be looking to shoulder more goalscoring opportunities this season in Zaha’s absence. Michael Olise, fresh from his new deal, is still unavailable on Monday night which means a lot of the creative flair will have to come from Eze.

Arsenal

Arsenal weren’t at their best on the opening weekend and stumbled to a 2-1 victory at home to Nottingham Forest. Since then, Arteta has been left devastated by the news that summer signing, Jurrien Timber, has suffered a torn ACL. That injury, and the return of Zinchenko, should see a very different back line for the Gunners here, but the forwards should remain the same.
