The defending WNBA champions Las Vegas Aces cruised through to the semifinals but a much tougher test awaits them now. The Aces are the number 1 seed, while their opponents the Dallas Wings are the 4th seed from the regular season. The Wings also swept their quarterfinal in what is their first playoff appearance since 2009. Will the Aces continue to dominate at home? To find out that and also our Aces vs Wings predictions read on.
Las Vegas Aces vs Dallas Wings – Game Predictions
Contents
The Aces are trying to become the first team in 21 years to win back-to-back titles. They had the best record of the regular season at 36-4. However one of those four defeats was vs the Wings so the coming matchup promises to be exciting. Can the Wings find a way to slow down Kelsey Plum?
Prediction 1: Over 170.5 total points @ -167 (3/5)
During the regular season, 3 of the 4 clashes between the teams went well north of 170.5 points. Combined the two teams averaged just shy of 180.0 points per game in the regular season.
Both sides showed they could score against each other and in 3 of the 4 clashes both teams went above their scoring average. All that makes us confident that game 1 of the Aces vs Wings semifinal will have more than 170 total points.
Prediction 2: Las Vegas Aces over 92.5 total points @ -125 (4/5)
Our second Aces vs Wings prediction backs the hosts to score at least 93 points themselves. The Aces went for 104 points in the last 2 matchups. They stayed below 90 in the first 2 meetings but they were missing key players in both those games. When they had their full roster the Aces easily scored vs the Wings.
Las Vegas come into this match boasting a 20-1 home record too so we can see the defending champions going out aggressively in game 1 to try and establish their dominance. This should be enough to see them go above this point spread.
These odds were correct at the time of writing.

Las Vegas Aces News, Injuries, and Starting Lineups
The Aces were the dominant team all season so far. With a 36-3 record and a 19-1 home record during the regular season, the defending champions looked very impressive.
They lost 1 of their 4 games vs the Wings though and need to be careful. The team’s big star A’ja Wilson averaged 26.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in the quarterfinals. She’s been sensational all season. Not so much against the Wings though. Dallas have players that can guard A’ja well and she struggled to get to 20 points in all 4 matches. Her shooting percentage from 2s for the regular season was 57%. In the 4 games vs the Wings, it was just 45%.
The Aces have another weapon in this matchup though. The guard Kelsey Plum has a very favourable matchup vs the Wings and she exploits that well. Kelsey averaged 23.5 points per game in the 3 matches vs the Wings she took part in. She was injured for one of the games and this was when the Aces lost. So, it seems Plum will be the player to watch in this game 1.

Dallas Wings News, Injuries, and Starting Lineups
The Wings are making their first playoff appearance since 2009 thanks to a 22-18 regular-season record. Dallas come into this game 1 on a 6-2 run. They looked impressive in the quarterfinals when beating easily Atlanta Dream twice.
The Wings have the biggest squad in the entire WNBA and this is why they lead the league for most offensive rebounds (36.7 per game) and most second-chance points (17.2). There are issues shooting from the perimeter though. Also, the Wings have problems defending the 3-point line as their bigs don’t like to leave the paint much. Not just that but the starting guard Senechal is currently out with a knee injury.
Still, with nothing to lose as nobody is giving them any chance against the Aces Dallas can relax and play with extra freedom. After all, they already found a way to beat the Aces once this season, so who knows?
Wings Injury Report:
Lou Lopez Senechal (G) – out
Diamond De Shields (G) – out
Wings Starting Lineup:
Odyssey Sims, Arike Ogunbowale, Natasha Howard, Satou Sabally, Teaira McCowan
