Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns – game predictions

The Warriors are a -2.5 point favourites going into this game.

Prediction 1: Golden State Warriors to win @ 7/10 (1.70)

Both teams are going into the season with the highest possible goals, and we couldn’t wish for a better game on opening night. Chris Paul will start for the Warriors next to Steph Curry going against the Suns who traded him in the off season. Durant will also be highly motivated to prove that he is still one of the top scorers in the league but winning in San Francisco is something that is very difficult for the opposing teams. The Warriors still have the same system under coach Kerr while the Suns will need some time to figure things out with Frank Vogel making his debut on their bench. This will be a tight game with the Warriors having the last punch.

Prediction 2: Kevin Durant over 27.5 points @ 17/20 (1.85)

Kevin Durant is back to the place where he won two NBA championships and will lack no motive. With the Suns being packed with elite scorers, KD will make his point from the very first game taking his number of shots as he usually does. The Suns will need him on top of his game to stand a chance in this game and KD will respond by going over 27.5 points.

Are the Warriors still contenders?

There were many analysts who signed off these Warriors, but they proved they can win in 2022. Curry, Thompson and Green are past their prime, but coach Steve Kerr will find a way to get the best out of the role players to help the big three and keep them fresh for the Playoffs. With Curry being healthy, there is no team in the league that will be able to beat the Warriors easily, so whoever wants to go out from the West will need to go through the Bay Area.

Golden State Warriors news, injuries, and starting lineups

The Warriors underachieved last season being eliminated in the second Playoff round after winning the championship in 2022. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are still capable of doing big things but the Warriors new GM, Mike Dunleavy Jr. tried to shake things up for the new season. He brought in Chris Paul and it will be very interesting to see how he and Curry will play together.

Golden State Warriors injury report

Draymond Green is out.

Golden State Warriors starting lineup

Chris Paul, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney

Phoenix Suns news, injuries, and starting lineups

The Phoenix Suns made huge adjustments since last season. Head coach Monty Williams and starting point guard Chris Paul are both gone. Bradley Beal has joined the team after spending his entire career with the Washington Wizards. The Suns traded starting center Deandre Ayton and now have Jusuf Nurkic in the paint. All these moves sounds very exciting, but the Suns’ success this season will mainly depend on Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
