The Miami Heat have a 3-1 lead going into Game 5 in the second-round series against the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference. After back-to-back losses in Florida, the Knicks are back in MSG in the hope to stay alive in the series. They definitely have a chance to win this one but will have to improve on the defensive end.
These odds from William Hill were correct at the time of writing.
New York Knicks vs Miami Heat – Game Predictions
Contents
the knicks are with their back against the wall as the Heat have a 3-1 lead. Madison Square Garden will be a hostile environment for the visitors and the Knicks will have to use the home court advantage to stay alive in the series.
Prediction 1: Miami Heat to Cover the Spread (+3.5)
The Heat very pretty dominant in the last two games at home and it is tough to imagine that the Knicks will be able to turn things around. Tom Thibodeau’s team was no threat in Miami and the momentum is completely on Miami’s side. New York is the favorite to win this one, and they may do that, but the Heat will be close to finish the series and will definitely cover the +3.5 point spread.
Prediction 2: Bam Adebayo under 17.5 points
Bam Adebayo is one of the key players for the Heat especially on the defensive end. The All-Star center is averaging 17.6 points in the Playoffs and the point margin on him is set right there. He is coming off a 23-point performance in Game 4 but that was the only time in this series he scored over 17. Game 5 will be a low-scoring one, and that will be another reason why Adebayo will be under his average.
Knicks vs Heat Preview – Can the Knicks do a miracle and turn things around?
The Knicks came into the series as a slight favorite given the home court advantage and the injury report. They had a double-digit lead in the opening game of the series but still lost that one, and after tying things up in with a Game 2 win, they stood no chances in the two games played in Miami. The Heat have the momentum and the control of the series, and the Knicks will need a miracle to advance to the Eastern Conference finals. They way to return starts with Game 5 in New York and an eventual win would return the series back to Florida. There are very few teams in NBA history that came back after being 3-1 down and the Knicks may be next one.
