The Los Angeles Lakers have a 2-1 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies. They are going into Game 4 with a major opportunity to get one step away from advancing to the second round of the Western Conference Playoffs. The Lakers absolutely demolished the Grizzlies in Game 3 despite the final score saying it was only 111-101 for the team from LA.
Now the Lakers are going from being a seventh seed that barely made it to the Playoffs to being in the driver’s seat in the series against the team with the second-best record in the Western Conference this season. One of the key players in that turnaround is Anthony Davis. He had a huge night in Game 3, leading the Lakers with 31 points and 17 rebounds. Being a power forward, Davis is going against Jaren Jackson Jr., who won the Defensive Player of the Year award but even he cannot do anything to hold Davis back.
What’s Davis’s Injury Status Ahead of Game 4 of the Series?
The Lakers are in a promising situation going into Game 4 of the series but the main question that will make the difference for them is Davis playing tonight is still open. Davis has missed 20 games with foot injury during the regular season and he still has issues with it. His status for Game 4 is probable meaning that he will most likely show up for the Lakers tonight. Davis is the sole big man for the Lakers who are very limited in the paint. Davis is very active on both ends of the floor and it is clear that he has been the best player for the Lakers in this series.
Are the Lakers in danger if Davis is still injured?
Anthony Davis has been the sole of this team in the Playoffs. LeBron may be the leader but there is no doubt that Davis is the best player on the team. If he is not ready to go tonight it turn things around completely. The Grizzlies are a high-flying team than can play up tempo basketball and Davis presence on the defensive end is huge. Despite the fact that the Grizzlies were blown away in the previous game, it is a fact that they will come back stronger tonight. Given the odds, the Lakers are the favorites tonight but if Davis is not ready to go, this series will most likely be tied at 2 games apiece.
