Philadelphia vs Boston – Game Predictions

Bookmakers currently favor the Celtics (-2) on the spread and at -142 on the moneyline against the 76ers (+104). The total is set at 214.5 points.

Prediction 1: Jayson Tatum over 4.5 assists @ 20/29 (-145)

Jayson Tatum has increased his assist output this postseason. Through 11 games in the two series, the 25-year-old is averaging 5.1 assists per game, 0.6 more than the prop being offered by William Hill Sportsbook.

The former Duke Blue Devil’s season average is 4.6, just a touch above the 4.5.

In terms of months, Tatum has averaged more than 4.5 assists in five of the eight months the NBA has been in session. The 2017 No. 3 overall pick has surpassed the prop in eight of his past 10 contests (80%).

Prediction 2: Joel Embiid over 2.5 blocks/steals 10/17 (-170)

Embiid has been a monster on the defensive end which has helped the 76ers take the lead over the Celtics. In seven playoff appearances this season, he’s recorded more than 2.5 steals and blocks six times (86% of the time).

During the regular season, he averaged 1.7 blocks per game and 1.0 steals. In the playoffs, he’s averaging 2.9 blocks per game and .75 steals per outing.

The organization hasn’t won a title since the 2007-2008 season when they rostered the “big 3” which included Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.
