Real Madrid vs Olimpia Milano prediction and odds

Defending champions Real Madrid began the new 2023-24 EuroLeague season with 3 consecutive wins and they have looked great so far. Los Blancos have the best offensive efficiency in the EuroLeague after 3 games. Olimpia Milano lost all of their last 4 matches vs Real but the biggest margin of a defeat in those was 6 points and the Italians tend to stay competitive in these clashes.

Real Madrid vs Olimpia Milano – game predictions

Below are our Real Madrid vs Olimpia Milano predictions. You can find more EuroLeague predictions here.

Prediction 1: Guerschon Yabusele over 8.5 points @ 4/5 (1.80)

Real Madrid’s power forward Yabusele had a rough night on Tuesday when he finished with just 5 points on 2 of 7 shooting. Yabusele scored 18 and 22 points in the first two matches though so we can see him bouncing back with another strong display straight away.

Prediction 2: Shavon Shields over 2.5 assists @ 7/10 (1.70)

Our second prediction backs Milano’s forward Shavon Shields to record at least 3 assists in the coming match. Shields had 3 and 4 assists respectively in the first 2 EuroLeague games this season. He is a gifted passer and with the two main ball-handlers of the team now out Shields tends to get involved in that part of the game more. This is why we back him to have another game with at least 3 assists.

These odds were correct at the time of writing.

Real Madrid vs Olimpia Milano preview – will Olimpia’s injury problems doom them to a defeat?

Olimpia Milano have been relying only on Nikola Mirotic for points so far. Their organisation had been poor and injuries to key players seriously limit the versatility in attack. All those sound like recopies for a disaster against the impressive Los Blancos.

Real Madrid news, injuries, and starting lineups

Real Madrid continued to shine and on Tuesday they cruised to a 93-79 home win against the other unbeaten team up until that point Zalgiris. The fast pace and the accurate shooting once again helped Los Blancos to dominate.

Argentinian sharpshooter Gabriel Deck made his comeback to the starting lineup on Tuesday. He missed several games injured but in his first start of the season vs Zalgiris Deck was impressive and scored 18 points.

Veteran Rudy Fernandez remains out. This is hardly an issue with Yabusele playing at an MVP level right now. Facundo Campazzo has been sensational too and his ability to push the pace and find open teammates has been crucial for Real’s efficiency so far.

Real Madrid Injury Report:

Rudy Fernandez SF – ruled out

Carlos Alocen SG – doubtful

Real Madrid Starting Lineup:

Facundo Campazzo, Gabriel Deck, Dzanan Musa, Walter Tavares, Guerschon Yabusele

Olimpia Milano recorded their first win of this season’s EuroLeague on Tuesday. In a scrappy match with lots of turnovers and very few hot shooters, Milano beat last season’s runner-ups Olympiacos 65-53. Nikola Mirotic once again carried the offensive burden and he finished with 20 points. This after Mirotic scored 27 in the first match.

Olimpia Milano have clear organisational problems though. This is hardly surprising with their 2 main starters in the backcourt Mando Lo and Billy Baron absent right now due to injuries. Missing one of them weakens the team significantly. Missing both makes Milano very predictable in attack as everything gets channelled through Mirotic.

Olimpia Milano Injury Report:

Mando Lo PG – ruled out

Billy Baron SG – ruled out

Olimpia Milano Starting Lineup:

Shavon Shields, Kevin Pangos, Nicolo Melli, Nikola Mirotic, Johannes Voigtmann
