Olympiacos vs Anadolu Efes – game predictions

Below are our Olympiacos vs Anadolu Efes predictions. You can find more EuroLeague predictions here.

Prediction 1: Will Clyburn over 5.5 rebounds @ 8/11 (1.73)

Our second pick for the Olympiacos vs Efes clash backs the small forward of Anadolu Efes Will Clyburn to grab at least 6 rebounds in the coming game. One of the main reasons for Anadolu Efes’s struggling so far had been Clyburn’s poor form.

His improved displays are also one of the main reasons why the Turks won their last two EuroLeague games. Clyburn got 6 rebounds in each of these two wins and we think he will reach that mark again now. He was rested at the weekend in the domestic league so his energy levels will be high now.

Prediction 2: Olympiacos over 80.5 points @ 4/5 (1.80)

Our second prediction backs Olympiacos to score at least 81 points. The runner-ups from last season’s EuroLeague expectedly find it much harder to score the basketball this campaign with their big star Sasha Vezhenkov moving to the NBA.

However, Olympiacos still have gifted scorers and in their two matches played in Greece so far in the EuroLeague they scored 88 or more points. Also, in the warm-up for this contest, they scored 102 points on the road in the domestic league. Due to all that we back the Greek team to get to at least 81 points in this match.

These odds were correct at the time of writing.

Olympiacos vs Anadolu Efes preview – which of these stumbling giants will prevail?

Both of these ambitious sides had rough starts and sit at 2-2. Efes have the momentum after winning twice last week. Olympiacos are yet to win in regulations, both their wins so far were after overtime. Who will prevail now?

Olympiacos news, injuries, and starting lineups

Olympiacos had been far from impressive so far this campaign. This was to be expected with arguably their two most important players Sloukas and Vezhenkov (last year’s EuroLeague MVP) leaving the club in the offseason. Added to that Olympiacos lost 2 more players due to injuries in the opening round of the EuroLeague so their rotation got very short.

The runner-ups from last season are yet to win in the EuroLeague in regular times. Still, they sit at 2-2 after achieving two overtime victories. The second one saw them edge Partizan at home last week.

Alec Peters was the main reason why Olympiacos won that match and he starts to shine brighter with each passing week as he seems set to be filling from now on the scoring void left by Vezhenkov.

Olympiacos will have to continue using shortened rotation though as the useful centre Tsamis and the important ball-handler Mckissic remain out injured for the time being.

Olympiacos Injury Report:

Panagiotis Tsamis C – ruled out

Shaquielle Mckissic PG – doubtful

Olympiacos Starting Lineup:

Isaiah Canaan, Thomas Walkup, Alec Peters, Kostas Papanikolaou, Moustapha Fall

The EuroLeague champions from two years ago Anadolu Efes had a rough start to the new season. The combination of a new manager and some injuries to key players made it for an unsettled opening few weeks. However, as the health situation improved the results did too.

Efes won both their games last week in the EuroLeague to move to 2-2 and they are full of buzz right now.

The fact that only the backup shooting guard Bryant remains sidelined is also helpful. Efes have a deep squad when everyone is fit and right now they can give their stars precious rest before pushing hard late in matches.

Anadolu Efes Injury Report:

Elijah Bryant SG – ruled out

Anadolu Efes Starting Lineup:

Shane Larkin, Darius Thompson, Ercan Osmani, Will Clyburn, Tyrique Jones
