Bayern Munich vs Fenerbahce prediction and odds

The new 2023-24 EuroLeague season for Bayern started with 2 wins and 2 defeats. Considering that the Bavarians played 3 of those 4 games on the road this is not a bad return at all. Fenerbahce have a 3-1 record and their Final Four ambitions are burning strong. The Turkish side enjoyed their trips to Munich over the years. Can Bayern’s new-look squad change that?

Bayern vs Fenerbahce – game predictions

Here are our Bayern vs Fenerbahce predictions. You can find more EuroLeague predictions here.

Prediction 1: Bayern Munich under 81.5 points @ 8/15 (1.53)

We don’t think Bayern will be able to score more than 81 points in this match. The Bavarians failed to even reach the 80-point mark in all of their last 6 clashes vs Fenerbahce. They are also yet to score more than 80 points in the EuroLeague this season.

Prediction 2: Nigel Hayes under 4.5 rebounds @ 3/5 (1.60)

Our second prediction focuses on Fenerbahce’s big Nigel Hayes. Hayes has been playing close to 30 minutes per game so far in the EuroLeague. Despite that, he’s averaging less than 4 rebounds per game and this is why we don’t think he will grab more than 4 boards in the coming match.

In 3 of the 4 EuroLeague games so far Hayes had no more than 3 rebounds. He got 6 in a match that went to overtime.

These odds were correct at the time of writing.

Bayern vs Fenerbahce preview – will Devin Booker punish his ex-teammates?

Only until last season, Devin Booker played for Fenerbahce. Now in Bayern colours, he will face his ex-team for the first time. Can this inspire him?

Bayern Munich news, injuries, and starting lineups

Bayern had a mixed last week in Spain. They began it with an inspiring win vs Baskonia, it was the strong fourth-quarter push that helped Bayern to turn things around in this match. However, just two days later Bayern suffered a humiliation as they lost 59-98 to Barcelona. Awful showing at both ends of the floor led to that drumming.

Despite, this last result 2-2 record after 3 of the opening 4 games had been on the road and against pretty strong sides is something Bayern will take.

Devin Booker and the NBA champion Serge Ibaka joined Bayern this summer to provide extra steel and fight inside the paint. Both are still settling and yet to produce their best basketball. For Booker the coming match will be emotional as up until July he represented exactly Fenerbahce.

Bayern need to assert their dominance inside for them to stand a chance in this duel. For that, Booker and Ibaka have to be more aggressive and look for more shots. Both haven’t done enough scoring so far.

Bayern Munich Injury Report:

Vladimir Lucic PF – doubtful

Bayern Munich Starting Lineup:

Leandro Bolmaro, Isaac Bonga, Serge Ibaka, Devin Booker, Freddie Gillespie

Fenerbahce news, injuries, and starting lineups

Fenerbahce improved to 3-1 with consecutive easy home wins last week. Blowout victories against both Panathinaikos and Lyon confirmed the team’s status as a serious Final Four contender.

Fenerbahce like to force the issue inside the paint a lot and they  do that even more lately as their squad has been hit by injuries on the point guard position.

Last season’s main playmaker Raul Neto got hurt during the FIBA World Cup and he will be out for the entire campaign. Yam Madar was doing a decent job in his absence but he is doubtful now too with a leg issue. The third-choice point guard Dorsey is also questionable after missing both games last week with a knee problem.

All that sees Fenerbahce play with just one guard in the rotation right now and attack the rim much more.

Fenerbahce Injury Report:

Raul Neto PG – ruled out

Yam Madar PG – doubtful

Tyler Dorsey PG – doubtful

James Birsen PF – doubtful

Fenerbahce Starting Lineup:

Marko Guduric, Dyshawn Pierre, Nick Calathes, Nigel Hayes, Johnathan Motley
