Olympiacos vs Partizan – game predictions

Given the odds, Olympiacos is the favourite to win this game, but Partizan is a tough opponent.

Prediction 1: Partizan +5.5 @ 17/20 (1.85)

Olympiacos is coming off a difficult loss against Olimpia Milano while Partizan lost the home opener to Barcelona. The Greek team will be without Shaquielle McCissic, Luke Sikma and Nigel Williams-Goss which is a huge problem from head coach Georgios Bartzokas. Things are not going well for Partizan either but they are at least healthy and ready. They responded well after the loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the first round and with Kevin Panter and Zach Leday, they will be able to stay close and cover the +5.5 points spread.

Prediction 2: Nikola Milutinov over 13.5 points @ 17/20 (1.85)

Milutinov started his career with Partizan and this will be a special game for him. The Serbian center averages 13.3 points per game this season and is coming off a 15-point performance against Olimpia Milano. With some of the best Olympiacos scorers being out with injuries, Milutinov will have more shots and knowing how efficient he is from the field, he will score over 13.5 points against his former team.

Is Partizan a legit contender this season?

Partizan made a lot of noise last season and they could smell the Final Four appearance after being up 2-0 in the series against Real Madrid. Somehow they managed to lose the series which was a tough pill to swallow for their fans. Mathias Lesort, Dante Exum and Yam Madar left but Obradovic still has a respectable roster. Kevin Punter stayed with the team despite having a lucrative offer from Barcelona, claiming that he has unfinished business in Belgrade. Well, maybe he can get things done this season for the black and whites.

Olympiacos news, injuries, and starting lineups

Three of the best Olympiacos players are out with injuries and the team from Athens has huge problems. They scored only 53 points in the loss against Olimpia Milano in the last round, which is totally unacceptable. That was second consecutive loss for last season’s runner up and they will need to step up big time against Partizan.

Olympiacos injury report

Shaquielle McCissic and Luke Sikma are out while Nigel Williams-Goss is questionable.

Olympiacos starting lineup

Isaiah Canaan, Thomas Walkup, Kostas Papanikolau, Alec Peters and Nikola Milutinov

Partizan news, injuries, and starting lineups

Partizan is coming off a tough loss against Barcelona in the home opener. Head coach Zeljko Obradovic made a lot of changes in the offseason and he is still figuring out how to get the best out of this team. Kevin Punter is not on the level we used to see last season and Partizan lacks some presence in the paint. Balsa Koprivica is great shot-blocker and finisher at the rim, but is more of a power forward than a center. Dante Exum and Yam Madar were the point guards last season, and Avramovic and Jaramaz cannot fill that gap.
