Fenerbahce vs Panathinaikos prediction and odds

The duels between the Turkish and Greek teams are always special in the EuroLeague, and this game is no exception. Fenerbahce will have the fans’ support, but it is a question if that will make much of a difference. Panathinaikos has lost the last three games against the Turkish team and is ready to end that streak.

Fenerbahce vs Panathinaikos – game predictions

Fenerbahce is the favourite to win against anybody in the Ulker Sports Arena but things will not be easy against the team from Athens.

Prediction 1: Panathinaikos +5.5 @ 17/20 (1.85)

For the first time in couple of seasons, Panathinaikos has a solid roster that can compete against anybody. Their biggest signing of the year was Kostas Sloukas who spent five seasons in Fenerbahce and won the EuroLeague with them. He will definitely be extra motivated and with the help of Luka Vildoza and Juancho Hernangomez, Panathinaikos is ready to win this game, and will most likely cover the +5.5 points spread.

Prediction 2: Marko Guduric under 12.5 points @ 17/20 (1.85)

Marko Guduric is one of the top players in Fenerbahce and he gets a lot of shots on the offensive end. The Serbian guard can both cerate shots for himself, drive for a layup, or make it rain from three-point territory. He scored 15 points in the season opener against Olimpia Milano and only five in the second round against Valencia. Being inconsistent is not his only weakness but often he fails to deliver in important games. The total line on him is set at 12.5 points and even if Guduric has a solid night, he will not go over this total line.

How good is Fenerbahce this season?

We are used to see Fenerbahce as one of the favourites in the last decade but this season, they are not even close to be named that. The team from Istanbul will still be a tough opponent at home, but they will have a tough time even making to the Playoffs. They definitely lack an elite scorer especially now with Tyler Dorsey being out with an injury.

Fenerbahce news, injuries, and starting lineups

Fenerbahce split the first two games of the season which is actually a good score given their performance. They do not have a real leader on the court as Melih Mahmutoglu is simply not that caliber of a player and Scottie Wilbekin put a target on himself by refusing to play for the Turkish national team at the World Cup. Fenerbahce defeated Bahcesehir in the Turkish championship 113-98 for the weekend, ending their two-game losing streak.

Fenerbahce injury report

Tyler Dorsey is injured and will not play in this game.

Fenerbahce starting lineup

Scottie Wilbekin, Marko Guduric, Nigel Hayes-Davis, Dyshawn Pierre and Jonathan Motley

Panathinaikos news, injuries, and starting lineups

Panathinaikos made a complete rebuild in the off-season, and the biggest move was bringing head coach Ergen Ataman. He won two EuroLeague titles in the last three years with Anadolu Efes, but he is already on the hot seat in Athens. After losing two consecutive games to Olympiacos to start the season, Panathinaikos won three straight but they almost lost to Peristeri in the Greek champion during the weekend, escaping with a 66-64 win.
