Anadolu Efes and Lyon-Villeurbanne are still looking for their first win of the season and the Turkish team is the favourite to do so. Still, it is a fact that Anadolu Efes is just a shadow of the team that won two of the last three EuroLeague titles.

Given the odds, Anadolu Efes is a major favourite to win this one, but judging from what we saw of them in the first two rounds, there is nothing certain with this team.
Prediction 1: Lyon-Villeurbanne +11.5 @ 17/20 (1.85)
There is no doubt that there is a huge gap between Anadolu Efes and Lyon-Villeurbanne going into this game despite they are both 0-2. This is a must win game for the Turkish team and their new head coach Erdem Can is already under a lot of pressure. Things are not any better with the French side, but it seems like they have nothing to lose in this game. Lyon-Villeurbanne has solid players who can get hot and make this game interesting. The given spread of +11.5 points is too big for EuroLeague no matter the teams, and with the current form of Anadolu Efes, they cannot beat anybody with that margin.
Prediction 2: Rodrigue Beaubois over 9.5 points @ 17/20 (1.85)
Beaubois is playing his sixth season with Anadolu Efes and he finally has a chance to show why he was a legit NBA player. Beaubois is the one who stepped in Vasilije Micic’s position and there is no doubt that he is doing an excellent job. He had a slow start of the season, scoring only 4 points in the opener against Barcelona, but dropped 19 points in 22 minutes in the second game against Real Madrid. Anadolu Efes desperately need this win and Beaubois will be their key scorer, easily going over 9.5 points.
Can Anadolu Efes make the Playoffs this season?
Anadolu Efes won the EuroLeague in 2021 and 2022, but things started to collapse last year. They did not even made the Playoffs and with the summer departures and the slow start of the season, they will probably miss the post season once again.
Anadolu Efes news, injuries, and starting lineups
Seeing Anadolu Efes at the bottom of the standings with a 0-2 record is not something that we are used to but the fact that they lost by 17 and 23 speaks enough that something is really wrong with this team. They lost head coach Ergin Adaman who led the team to back to back EuroLeague titles as well as their best scorer Vasilije Micic. It was expected to see them taking a step back, but this looks more like a disaster.
Anadolu Efes injury report
Anadolu Efes starting lineup
Shane Larkin, Darius Thompson, Erkan Yilmaz, Derek Willis and Ante Zizic
Lyon-Villeurbanne news, injuries, and starting lineups
Lyon-Villeurbanne lost both games to start the season and both of them came against the Serbian teams. No one really expected of them to make any significant result but there is definitely a pressure on the team led by TJ Parker. Besides losing both games in the EuroLeague, they have lost 4 of the last 5 overall, including the LNB League losses to Nanterre and Saint Quentin.
