Peter Wright vs Michael Smith Prediction and Odds – Premier League Darts Night 10

Peter Wright is out of the running as far as a top-four finish in this season’s Premier League Darts is concerned. But he could still do some damage to Michael Smith’s ambitions of such a finish as they meet on Night 10.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

Peter Wright vs Michael Smith – Match Predictions

This is the final quarter-final match from the Premier League draw in Birmingham this week. Michael Smith was a runner-up in Berlin 7-days ago and will look to continue some decent form with an opener against the struggling Smith. Here are our darts predictions for the match.

Prediction 1: Smith -1.5 Handicap

We are leaning towards Smith coming through this match, and he’s the odds-on favourite to do so. For some better value than the match outright, however, we are going for the -1.5 line for Smith to cover. Wright isn’t in the running here and if Smith starts strongly, then it’s hard to see Snakebite being too bothered about turning things around.

Prediction 2: Smith Most 180s

Even if Smith wasn’t quite as strong of a match favourite, we would still lean towards him beating Wright on maximums. Smith has that quick, heavy scoring touch about him and when he slips up, it’s more down to a lack of finishing than actual scoring.

Peter Wright and Michael Smith Latest Form and Performances

The winner of this quarter-final match will face either Nathan Aspinall or Dimitri Van den Bergh in the semi-finals.  Let’s examine some of the players’ current form.

It’s All Gone Wrong For Peter Wright

This season of the Darts Premier League is a scratch for former World Champion Peter Wright. He just hasn’t been able to get out of his slump at all. He recently stated that not playing on the ProTour this season may have taken the edge off of his game. Wright remains with one match win for this PL campaign.

Bully Boy Buoyed By Berlin Form

Michael Smith made it to the Final in Berlin last week, a nice return to form by him after back-to-back quarter-final finishes. Smith needed that run and points to strengthen his push for a top-four finish. He’s up to a 17-9 match record for the season and is only one of two players (Van Gerwen) to have notched up more than 200 scores of 100+this season.

Peter Wright vs Michael Smith Head to Head

Smith won a deciding leg against Wright when they met earlier this season in the Premier League. The recent head-to-head between them is fairly even with Smith 3-2 up in the last five.
