Box-to-box midfielder Scott McTominay has often been a key player for Manchester United throughout the past couple of campaigns. The Scottish player is a true lion at the center of the pitch, and it’s no wonder why clubs want to sign him.

26-year-old McTominay is a product of Manchester United’s youth facilities. He knows everything there is to know about the club, but judging from the minutes he’s getting in the A-team, he might feel a bit unappreciated. Scott McTominay was featured in 24 Premier League games last season, scoring once. However, he seems to play second fiddle to the star players in midfield.

Since the start of the campaign, Scott made two appearances. However, joining the Nottingham Forest game in the 85th minute for partner-in-crime Antony is somewhat of a slap to the face, considering McTominay’s talent.

Will fan-favorite McTominay accept his faith as a bench warmer, or will he opt for something new in his professional journey? There are a couple of Premier League players that are attracting significant attention during this transfer window. The Brennan Johnson transfer saga comes to mind. Let’s see who the top candidates for McTominay’s signature are.

To stay at Manchester United – 9/10

With only hours on the transfer clock, Scott McTominay is likely to spend the first half of the 2023/24 season defending his boyhood team’s honor. Scott is a fighter. He wouldn’t mind prolonging his stay at Old Trafford in an attempt to prove his worth to Dutch manager Erik ten Hag. Sure, benching Brazilian legend Casemiro or in-form Eriksen seems highly unlikely at the moment, but McTominay wouldn’t have too much of a choice, considering the transfer deadline.

Bayern Munich – 17/10

It doesn’t seem likely that Bayern Munich will opt to pay a colossal amount of money for the Red Devils’ youth academy product. McTominay’s market value is set at €25m but the board will likely demand twice as much. That’s money Bayern can’t pay as they already spent a fortune on Harry Kane’s deal.

With a whopping €100m for Harry Kane, €50m for Min-jae Kim, and €5m for Daniel Peretz, Bayern Munich’s treasury is mostly empty. However, new information emerged saying that the Bavarian giants have Scott McTominay down as a key midfield priority. Bayern are considering a season-long loan move for the 26-year-old midfielder, which will likely suit Manchester United just fine, as there is already an abundance of options in midfield at Old Trafford. Cashing in a couple of millions for a McTominay move might convince the Red Devils’ board to let go of their player for a while.

West Ham – 11/5

After winning the Conference League, West Ham’s ambitions are now sky-high. The board boosted David Moyes’ side with Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, and Ajax’s attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus. However, there’s still plenty of money left after Declan Rice’s massive €116m transfer to Arsenal.

Rumors have it that West Ham are preparing a can’t-resist £40m bid for the versatile midfielder. This offer might just tempt Manchester United to sell, but with the transfer clock ticking, the Hammers will have to work swiftly to make this deal come true.
