At the start of the season, Manchester City were priced at 20/1 to win the treble and after they lost at home to Brentford in the final game before the World Cup break in December, these odds lengthened to 50/1.

Pep Guardiola’s men weren’t at their usual best during the first half of the campaign but have been scintillating in recent months and are now just one win away from eternal glory. Ahead of their final test against Inter Milan in the Champions League final, here are some tips and odds that are worth taking a look at.

Champions League Final Odds

Manchester City to win – 4/9 (1.44)

At 4/9, Manchester City are the same price as they were before their FA Cup final victory over Manchester United on Saturday. At Wembley, City benefitted from a first-minute wonder strike from Ilkay Gundogan and some sloppy goalkeeping from David de Gea and, in truth, they got through the match without ever playing close to their best.

On paper, Manchester United are a more formidable opponent than Inter Milan which bodes well for Guardiola and his players ahead of Saturday night. If City play close to their best on Saturday, then shouldn’t have too much trouble overcoming an old Inter Milan.

Manchester City to keep a clean sheet – 11/10 (2.1)

Given the expectation is that Manchester City are going to dominate the match, in terms of possession at least, it’s difficult to envisage Inter Milan having too many chances particularly when they are lacking pace at the top end of the pitch.

Inter’s game usually revolves around getting the ball into Edin Dzeko’s feet and allowing the likes of Mkhitaryan and Martinez to play off and around him. Whether they’ll be able to do that against Manchester City given the amount of defensive work they will have to put in remains to be seen and 11/10 looks a great price for a City clean sheet.

Erling Haaland to score the first goal – 21/10 (3.1)

Erling Haaland has had an incredible season in front of goal and has netted 52 times in 52 appearances across all competitions. If he is to end the season with an average of at least one goal per game then he will have to find the back of the net in Istanbul on Saturday night.

Haaland, who has admitted he has always dreamed of playing in a Champions League final, is 4/7 to score any time and 21/10 to score the first goal of the game, something could easily happen given how quickly City have been starting games recently.

Gundogan to score outside the penalty area – 16/1 (17.0)

Ilkay Gundogan has scored a plethora of huge goals for Manchester City over the past couple of years. He scored the winner on the final day of the 2021/22 Premier League season and scored the goal of the season at Goodison Park last month to put the final nail in Arsenal’s coffin.

Most recently, he scored two volleys from the outside of the box in last weekend’s FA Cup final against Manchester United to secure his team a famous victory against their bitter rivals. If you think history will repeat itself a week later, then you can bet on the German to score from outside the penalty area at odds of 16/1. For such a pure striker of the ball, these odds seem generous.
