Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has revealed his joy at playing alongside “amazing” teammate Luis Diaz, a player he believes has “so much talent.”
The attacker has missed the majority of the campaign with a knee injury, which has limited Diaz to just 13 Premier League appearances this season.
Fortunately for the Reds, their star winger is now back on the pitch, much to the delight of the man between the sticks.
Alisson praises Liverpool teammate
Diaz has now featured in the last five Liverpool matches, all of which have been victories. The run represents a superb return to form for the Reds.
They now sit fifth in the Premier League table with four matches remaining, with Diaz set to continue his recovery in those games as Liverpool look to continue their strong run.
Playing a key role at the other end has been outstanding goalkeeper Alisson, who produced several top saves to help Liverpool keep a clean sheet in their 1-0 win over Fulham on Wednesday.
Jurgen Klopp handed Diaz 66 minutes from the start against the Cottagers, with his teammate Alisson revealing just how much joy the Colombian brings to the team.
“He is amazing,” Alisson told the official Liverpool website. “So much joy when you watch him play – and I have more joy than you because he is playing in front of me!
“It is so good to watch him play. Really skilled player, so much talent. He is helping us a lot, he is a proper threat to the opponent, the full-back has to think twice to overlap because they have Lucho behind them.
“This is something that helps our team as well, bringing quality on the ball. And he works really hard defensively as well for the team. I’m really happy for him.”
