Monaco vs Maccabi Tel Aviv – game predictions

Below are our Monaco vs Maccabi Tel Aviv predictions. You can find more EuroLeague predictions here.

Prediction 1: Over 155.5 points @ 1/2 (1.50)

The last 4 clashes between the teams went well over 155.5 points. Also, 2 of Maccabi’s 3 EuroLeague games so far and Monaco’s last 2 matches in the competition comfortably had more than 155 total points in them.

All this makes us confident that the teams will once more surpass that mark when they face each other on Thursday.

Prediction 2: John DiBartolomeo under 2.5 assists @ 3/5 (1.60)

Our second prediction looks at Maccabi’s captain DiBartolomeo. He’s not much of a passer and after 3 games this season, he is averaging only 2.0 assists per game. This is an improvement on his total average, which in his seventh season in the EuroLeague is only 1.2 assists per game.

With DiBartolomeo unable to get more than 2 assists in 2 of the 3 matches so far we think it’s logical to assume he will stay below the 2.5 spread once more now.

These odds were correct at the time of writing.

Monaco vs Maccabi Tel Aviv preview – will the hosts make it three in a row?

Monaco enjoyed a perfect double-week and with consecutive wins, they are back on track. Maccabi mixed a win and a defeat last week.

Monaco news, injuries, and starting lineups

Monaco lost their first two matches of this season’s EuroLeague but last week they recorded two wins and at 2-2 their mood is much better. The Monegasques were impressive in Belgrade where they beat Crvena Zvezda and then romped to an easy home success vs Alba Berlin on Friday.

Coach Sasa Obradovic gave his 3-time NBA All-Star Kemba Walker his first minutes in Europe in those two matches. The point guard still plays only limited minutes but he was solid in the second match of the two and clearly as his conditioning improved he will be becoming more of a factor.

Monaco are also expected to welcome the important shooting guard Jordan Loyd back from injury. He trains again and could be available for this match. With Loyd and Walker now in the rotation Monaco are bound to look even better and the confidence in their ranks is high right now.

Maccabi Tel Aviv news, injuries, and starting lineups

Maccabi had issues early last week scoring the basket on their visit to Valencia and this brought them their first defeat of the competition. They lost 66-75 in a match in which Lorenzo Brown was completely neutralised.

Maccabi looked to be heading towards a second defeat in a week on Friday in Athens. However, they found a way to force an overtime vs Panathinaikos which eventually was won by Maccabi 86-81.

Both these matches exposed weaknesses. Trapping Brown seems to be working well against Maccabi and now their opponents saw that more of the same can be expected. This is even easier to implement with the team’s main shooter Wade Baldwin still a major doubt due to a back issue.

Maccabi Tel Aviv Injury Report:

Wade Baldwin SG – doubtful

Maccabi Tel Aviv Starting Lineup:

Lorenzo Brown, Antonius Cleveland, James Webb, Jake Cohen, Josh Nebo
