All roads lead to Cincinnati as the Western & Southern Open kicks off this week. This will be the last ATP 1000 event before the US Open. In this article, we’ll provide our ATP Cincinnati Open predictions, which will be updated each day.
ATP Western & Southern Open predictions – outright winner
Contents
It’s fair to point out that the defending champion of this event is Borna Coric. The Croatian player had an impressive run last year, defeating players like Rafael Nadal, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Cameron Norrie en route to the title. However, our pick for this year’s title is Novak Djokovic. The former World number 1 has been one of the most successful players in history. He is also a two-time Cincinnati Open champion. Although there are a few players who will give Djokovic a run for his money, he should reign supreme when it’s all said and done.

Alexander Zverev to win 2-0

Novak Djokovic to win 2-0
13/20 (1.65)
These are our ATP Cincinnati Open tips for today:
Hubert Hurkacz vs Alexei Popyrin
We would like to point out that Alexei Popyrin surrendered at least one set in all of his last six singles matches; he also lost in the qualifying rounds of this tournament, and only made it through to the main draw as a lucky loser. Furthermore, Popyrin hasn’t fared well against today’s opponent in the past; as he has two losses in as many encounters with the Polish player, with both losses coming in straight sets. Taking everything into account, we believe that Hubert Hurkacz will win this match in two sets.
Adrian Mannarino vs Alexander Zverev
These are two players that have met a fair few times, and Adrian Mannarino doesn’t particularly look forward to meeting Alexander Zverev on the court. As a matter of fact, the French player is currently 0 for 7 vs Zverev; he lost four of those encounters in straight sets, including their last two skirmishes. While we have no doubt that Mannarino will give everything he has to win this match, anything other than a straight sets victory for Zverev would be a surprise.
Taylor Fritz vs Novak Djokovic
Taylor Fritz has consistently been one of the top 10 players on the ATP Tour, going as far up as number 5 in the World. However, the American just doesn’t seem to find his footing when he faces Novak Djokovic. In six previous meetings between these two, Fritz has no wins, with just two total sets won. In fact, Novak Djokovic won five of six previous skirmishes between these players in straight sets. This should be an exciting clash, but we believe the 23 time grand slam champion will maintain his perfect record vs Fritz with another straight sets victory.
