F1 Drivers Stats
It’s always nice to know the drivers’ numbers and statistics. Here are some interesting stats about the 2023 grid:
- 10 drivers have already won a Grand Prix.
- 12 drivers have already scored a pole position.
- 14 drivers have scored the fastest lap in a race.
- 15 drivers have already finished on the podium.
This year’s grid also has three world champions – Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso, who combine for an impressive 11 titles.
F1 Drivers Facts
In 2021, Yuki Tsunoda became the first driver in F1 history to be born in the 2000s. This time around, he is joined by Logan Sargeant and Oscar Piastri.
- Oldest driver: Fernando Alonso – July 29, 1981.
- Youngest driver: Oscar Piastri – April 6, 2001.
As a fun fact, Alonso made his F1 debut as a 20-year old on March 3, 2002 in Melbourne, Piastri’s hometown, a month and three days before the Australian driver was even born.
- Tallest drivers: Alexander Albon and Esteban Ocon – 1.86m (6ft1).
- Shortest driver: Yuki Tsunoda – 1.59m (5ft3).
- Heaviest driver: Nico Hulkenberg – 78kg (171.9lbs).
- Lightest driver: Yuki Tsunoda – 54kg (119.05lbs).
They have also come from many different places. The 2023 grid has 15 different countries represented. The United Kingdom has the most representatives, with three drivers, followed by France, the Netherlands and Spain with two each. Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Monaco, Thailand and the United States have one each.
