Red Bull gave Carlos Sainz Jr. a chance in 2015 and he took it. He made his F1 debut for Scuderia Toro Rosso, where his partner was Max Verstappen. Carlos finished his first race, the Australian Grand Prix, in ninth position. A great result at his debut. He was also lucky, because seven drivers did not finish the race. Like many other drivers, Carlos Sainz Jr. began his career in karting. In 2010 he made his debut in Formula BMW Europe with the Red Bull Junior Team.
In 2012, Sainz raced in Euro Series Formula 3 for Carlin. He won four races and finished sixth in the drivers’ standings. Next season he signed with Arden and compete in GP3. Arden is co-owned by Christian Horner, team principal of Red Bull Racing, and former driver Mark Webber.
