Watford vs Blackburn Predicted Lineups and News
Before we go into more details regarding the Watford vs Blackburn possible lineups we’ll give you the latest team news for each team and what that means for their overall strength.
Team news: Watford
Last weekend Watford suffered their first defeat of the season. The Hornets were pretty toothless on their visit to Stoke and deserved to be beaten 0-1. Watford have been struggling in attack since they won their curtain raiser. The Hornets haven’t scored in the last 2 rounds and they start to feel a bit of pressure.
They have enjoyed their recent matches vs Blackburn though (W3 D3 L1) and the last time Rovers came to town and won was way back in 2001.
Watford signed a new striker this week. Mileta Rajović comes from Kalmar in Sweden and he is expected to make the squad straight away even if he doesn’t start immediately. Also, the team’s two main full-backs Ngakia and Morris have recovered from injuries on time and both are expected to start.
Midfielder Sierralta could be absent though as he sat out the last match with an unspecified injury.
Watford Predicted Lineups (4-3-3):
Bachmann – Ngakia, Porteous, Hoedt, Morris – Louza, Livermore, Dele-Bashiru – Sema, Bayo, Martins
Team news: Blackburn

Blackburn suffered their first defeat of the campaign last weekend but they showed great spirit and really deserved more. Despite being reduced to ten men 10 minutes into their home game vs Hull Rovers took the lead and conceded 2 very late goals to lose 1-2. The spirit was there and even at 1-1 Blackburn were the team closer to the win.
Rovers will be without a typical left-back for this trip. The regular Pickering was the player sent off and he is now suspended. His main cover Jake Batty is nursing an injury right now and he is unavailable. This is likely to see the main right-back Callum Britttain used on the opposite flank where he has some experience in the past.
The goalscorer from last weekend Sam Gallagher might not travel as he has only just become a father and has been given time off. Also, the big signing of last week Arnór Sigurdsson is likely to need more training before he is considered.
Blackburn Predicted Lineups (4-2-3-1):
Pears – Rankin-Costello, Carter, Hyam, Brittain – Travis, Wharton – Hedges, Szmodics, Dolan – Leonard
Will Arnór Sigurdsson play for Blackburn?
Blackburn’s big summer signing is the Icelandic attacking midfielder Arnór Sigurdsson. The ex-CSKA Moscow player is expected to be a key figure for Rovers but he is not likely to be making his debut just yet. Sigurdsson has been without a club since June so he needs to gain fitness before being used.
