Southampton welcome Leicester City to St Mary’s on Friday night in the Championship, in a fixture guaranteed to be a thriller. 

The two sides suffered relegation from the Premier League last season, and have started life in the second division as one of the stronger sides, with both only losing one game so far. 

Last campaign, the Saints gained six points against the Foxes, winning 2-1 at the King Power Stadium in August 2022, and emerging victorious at St Mary’s 1-0 earlier this year in March. 

There have been some absolute beauties in this fixture in the past, with not many as memorable as Southampton’s 9-0 home loss against Leicester in October 2019, a result that Russell Martin will make his side forget about.
