Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad predicted lineups and news
Contents
Los Blancos are currently sitting pretty on top of La Liga with the division’s only 100% record. However they may well have slipped to 2nd by the time this kicks off with Barcelona in action earlier in the weekend. It’s just their second home game of the season at the newly renovated Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Sociedad are also unbeaten but have drawn three of their four matches to date. As a result, they are 8th on 6 points heading into this matchday and they’ll have aspirations of finishing in the Champions League places again.
Team news: Real Madrid
Real Madrid’s 100% record remains only thanks to Jude Bellingham. He scored a late winner against Celta Vigo on matchday 3 and then popped up in the 95th minute to settle the home match against Getafe just prior to the international break.
Bellingham is very much the man of the moment in Madrid having scored in every match so far for his new club. He should start again here but the home team are still missing Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao to long-term injuries while Vini Junior and Arda Guler will also sit this one.
The fitness of Dani Ceballos and Ferland Mendy will be monitored prior to kick-off with both carrying knocks although neither are guaranteed starters by any means even if fit.
Real Madrid predicted lineup
Kepa, Fran Garcia, Alaba, Rudiger, Carvajal, Tchouameni, Camavinga, Kroos, Bellingham, Joselu, Rodrygo
Team news: Real Sociedad
La Real struggled to impose themselves on their opening three matches with some pretty underwhelming displays in draws against Girona, Celta Vigo and Las Palmas.
That resulted in a slightly different approach last time out as Imanol changed the system allowing Mikel Oyarzabal to operate as a false nine with misfiring strikers Carlos Fernandez and Umar Sadiq left on the bench. He also handed a debut to new loan signing Kieran Tierney.
They produced by far their best attacking performance of the season with a 5-3 win over Granada. We may see a similar approach here, although it’s likely to be slightly more conservative given the quality of the opposition.
The visitors are missing summer arrival Andre Silva to injury once more while Aritz Elustondo is a doubt.
Real Sociedad predicted lineup
Remiro, Tierney, Le Normand, Zubeldia, Traore, Zubimendi, Merino, Brais Mendez, Barrenetxea, Oyarzabal, Kubo
Will Fede Valverde play?

Real Madrid’s South American international contingent is slightly smaller than normal given the injuries to Vini and Militao. However midfielder Fede Valverde did play 180 minutes for Uruguay during the international break and has travelled back from Tuesday’s defeat at altitude in Quito.
With Real Madrid in Champions League action this coming Wednesday, he’s a strong candidate to be rotated with Toni Kroos, who has retired from international football, likely to play instead.
