Real Betis vs Valencia predicted lineups: Selection headaches in the heat of Seville

A busy week of action in La Liga continues this Sunday at the Benito Villamarin in Seville. Here are the Real Betis vs Valencia predicted lineups for this weekend’s clash which gets underway at 21:00 in Spain.

The game has been moved back to a later kick-off time due to forecasts of 37°C temperatures in the Andalusian city this Sunday.

Real Betis vs Valencia predicted lineups and news

These two clubs are currently sat in mid-table of La Liga. With lower expectations, Valencia will be content to be 8th heading into this matchday although they’ll most likely have dropped a few places by kick-off. Real Betis are underachieving slightly with their current 10th place and are a point worse off than their opponents.

The match will be live on Viaplay Sports Online in the UK with a 20:00 kick-off time.

Team news: Real Betis

Betis are four games without a win in all competitions. Their boss Manuel Pellegrini was left furious with the club’s decision to sell centre-back Luiz Felipe to Al-Ittihad outside of the European transfer window leaving Betis short on defenders and they’ve struggled during this busy period with a few injuries further limiting their options in terms of rotation.

Centre back Marca Bartra has missed recent games due to injury adding to their problems at the back. William Jose, Youssouf Sabaly and Luiz Henrique are also expected to miss this game due to injury while long-term absentee Nabil Fekir remains out.

Some rotation is to be expected after Assane Diao’s goal sealed a 1-1 draw at Granada on Thursday night.

Real Betis predicted lineup

Bravo, Miranda, Bartra, Pezzella, Bellerin, Guido Rodriguez, Roca, Abde Ez, Isco, Rodri, Ayoze Perez

Team news: Valencia

Valencia were defeated 1-0 at Mestalla in midweek by a much changed Real Sociedad side. They have the feel of a young team who may blow hot and cold. They’ve lost 3 of their last 5 in La Liga but that period also saw them play brilliantly in a surprise 3-0 win over Atletico Madrid.

Their chances in this game are hampered by a growing selection crisis though. Captain and key man Jose Gaya is the latest to be ruled out and he joins Alberto Mari, Sergi Canos and Jesus Vazquez on the treatment table. Andre Almeida, Thierry Correia and Dimitri Foulquier are also carrying knocks and will be assessed in the build up to the game.

Valencia predicted lineup

Mamardashvili, Cenk, Gabriel, Diakhaby, Mosquera, Pepelu, Guerra, Diego Lopez, Almeida, Fran Perez, Duro

Will Marc Bartra play?

Given Real Betis only have three centre-backs in their squad, one of whom is inexperienced 20 year old Chadi Riad, Marc Bartra’s injury has been a big blow for Manuel Pellegrini during this busy period. While he did struggle in the recent defeat to Barcelona, the recent addition is training again and should be fit to feature in this game.
