Spurs striker Harry Kane put on a show for his club in their 4-0 hammering of Crystal Palace on Wednesday, with the forward netting a brace to break yet another Premier League record.
The north London side, who were without a win in their previous two games, were again struggling against the Eagles, going in goalless at halftime.
But their superstar Kane quickly turned on the charm after the break, heading home Ivan Perisic’s cross in the 48th minute.
The striker netted again just five minutes later, finishing expertly from Bryan Gil’s pass. Kane also played a key role in Spurs’ third, before setting up Son Heung-min for the fourth goal.

Spurs hero Kane has already broken several records during his time with the club, and on Wednesday he broke another.
He scored his 198th Premier League goal on what was his 300th Premier League appearance, with his tally coming quicker than Alan Shearer’s 196.
Moreover, he became only the second player to score on his 100th, 200th and 300th Premier League appearances, joining Teddy Sheringham in that regard.
His brace takes him to within two goals of Jimmy Greaves’ all-time Spurs goalscoring record, with the striker set to break that one in the months or even weeks to come.
With his 198 goals in the competition, the England captain sits third in the all-time Premier League scoring charts. He is behind only Shearer (260) and Wayne Rooney (208).
“It’s always nice when you get spoken about with players like that,” said Kane, as reported by BBC Sport. “I have to keep it going. I’m feeling fresh and fit so hopefully can finish the season strong.”
Pundit praises ‘Mr Goals’
It’s the 11th successive calendar year in which Kane has scored for Spurs, with the striker now on 16 goals in all competitions for the current season.
He has 15 Premier League goals to his name this season, behind only the 21 of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
Several pundits were on hand to lavish the forward with praise after the Palace win, including former Spurs player Graeme Souness, who said: “I think they will finish top four simply because of him.
“You don’t have to play well to win games because you have goals. He is Mr Goals.”
Spurs ‘so reliant’ on Kane
Ex-Premier League players Leon Osman and Glenn Murray also praised Kane for his superb display at Selhurst Park.
Speaking after the game, ex-Everton midfielder Osman commented: “What a record. What a player. We all thought Shearer’s record was unassailable.
“But this guy is hunting it down with authority. He has scored 15 goals in 18 games in the league this season.
“He always scores in big moments and big games. He keeps on churning out goals. They were typical Kane goals tonight. He is 29 and has 62 goals to go.”
And former Crystal Palace striker Murray commented: “Kane dragged them into a two-goal lead they didn’t deserve at all. That is why he gets paid the big bucks and why Spurs are so reliant on him.”
