Next Tottenham Manager Odds: Nagelsmann current favourite while Pochettino return a possibility

After Antonio Conte’s dismissal, Spurs are back in the hunt for another manager. The former Italy, Chelsea and Inter boss only lasted 16 months, with his time in London coming to an end after being knocked out of the FA Cup and Champions League. His very public rants didn’t help his cause, who seemed destined to clear out his desk before the season was over.

Cristian Stellini will step to be caretaker manager until the end of the season, while the board ponder over their next move for the next permanent Tottenham manager.

Next Tottenham Permanent Manager Candidates: Latest odds

  • Zinedine Zidane 14/1

Julian Nagelsmann: A swift return to management?

julien nagelsmann

Looking at the next Tottenham manager betting, Julian Nagelsmann is the current 15/8 favourite.

After his shock sacking last week from Bayern Munich, Daniel Levy and the board have a fantastic opportunity to convince Nagelsmann his next move belongs in North London.

Not many saw Nagelsmann being dismissed this week, and there’s bound to be plenty of clubs interested in the summer if Spurs don’t make their move for him beforehand.

An emotional return for Pochettino?

Up next in the next Tottenham manager odds market is former boss, and fans favourite, Mauricio Pochettino at 3/1. The Argentine who took Spurs to the 2019 Champions League final, parted ways with French giants PSG in July 2022 and is currently a free agent.

Does Pochettino have unfinished business with Spurs? Time will tell. However, Harry Kane’s future may depend on whether the Argentine is convinced a return is worthwhile.

Europa League winner on the cards

Current third favourite at 5/1 is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Oliver Glasner. The Austrian manager won his first trophy as manager in 2022, when his German side beat Rangers on penalties in the Europa League. This season, the 48-year-old currently has Frankfurt in a Europa Conference place, five points behind Leipzig, who occupy a Europa League spot.

With Spurs currently sat in 4th place in the Premier League, and the possibility of Champions League football next campaign, Glasner could be persuaded to leave his post in the Bundesliga if Nagelsmann or Pochettino are not offered the role.

Wildcard and proven winner amongst the favourites

At a bigger price, former Real Madrid icon and manager Zinedine Zidane is 14/1 to jump back into management. After winning three Champions League titles with Madrid as manager, as well as two La Liga titles, Spurs fans wouldn’t say no to the serial winner.

However, having only managed his beloved club and not managed another club since 2021, it appears unlikely the Frenchman will be moving to England any time soon.

Celtic boss a lively outsider in the market

Rounding off the top 10 in the market is current Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou at 18/1. The Australian manager has been in charge of Celtic since 2021, having previously spent three years managing Yokohama Marinos in Japan.

After winning the J League title in 2019 Postecoglou has carried on his success in Scotland, lifting the Scottish Premiership in 2022, as well as two back-to-back Scottish League Cups. While the 57-year-old is rather unfancied in the market, he’s a cheaper option compared to those at the head of the market.

Having impressed in both Japan and in Scotland, as well as a four-year spell as the Australian national manager, he’s not out of the running if Spurs fail to entice a big name to sign on the dotted line.
