New York Red Bull resumed the MLS season with a win. They are well-rested and highly motivated as they sit just outside the playoffs. However, Messi or no Inter are out of playoff contention in the MLS. Here is all the latest team news from both camps and our New York RB vs Inter Miami predicted lineups.

The game is scheduled for Sunday, August 27th and will be played at the Red Bull Arena in New York. The kick-off time is 00:30 GMT. Now, let’s look at all the team news and also at our New York RB vs Inter Miami predicted lineups.

New York RB vs Inter Miami Predicted Lineups and News

Before we go into more details regarding the New York RB vs Inter Miami possible lineups we’ll give you the latest team news for each team and what that means for their overall strength. And if you can’t make it to the stadium don’t worry, you can always enjoy all the action on TV.

Team news: New York RB

New York RB resumed their season with an important 1-0 win vs Wayne Rooney’s DC United. Tolkin’s late free-kick brought this success and with it, the Red Bulls moved only within 3 points of the playoff positions.

New York RB have every reason to feel confident as they’ve won 5 of the only 7 previous H2Hs, including their last 2 at home.

Some serious selection headaches in attack though. Star striker Vanzeir got hurt last weekend and he is now considered touch-and-go. He might be rushed back even if not 100% because the other main centre forward Cory Burke remains sidelined, while new signing Hurtado still has visa issues and is unlikely to be available.

In further selection issues the useful full-back Duncan is set to be missing due to a suspension.

New York RB Predicted Lineups (4-2-2-2):

Coronel – Harper, Reyes, Nealis, Tolkin – Edelman, Amaya – Fernandez, Luquinhas – Barlow, Manoel

Team news: Inter Miami

Inter Miami became the first-ever MLS team to lift the Leagues Cup title last Saturday. All that thanks to the arrival of Lionel Messi a few months ago. The Argentine hit the ground running straight away and in just 8 matches he already has 10 goals for Miami.

On Wednesday Inter Miami reached another final. They needed 120 minutes and penalties but eventually, they prevailed vs Cincinnati to book a place in the US Open Cup final. Messi played the full 120 minutes in midweek.

Inter Miami are last in their Conference and their playoff chances are pretty much over. This makes the MLS not such an important tournament. That’s why we think the hints given by coach Tata Martino after the gruelling battle in midweek lean towards Messi being given a rest this weekend.

With the schedule getting very congested in the coming weeks Messi might not be the only regular given a rest. The other big summer arrivals Alaba and Bosquets could also be left out.

Inter are certainly going to be without 6 sidelined players. Among them is the important playmaker Silva.

Inter Miami Predicted Lineups (4-3-3):

Lionel Messi scored 10 goals in just 8 games since he joined Inter Miami. However, he started every match since his arrival, played the full 120 minutes in midweek and looked exhausted near the end. His manager confirmed that Messi is reaching “his physical limit”, so could all this mean that the Argentine gets rested this weekend?
