Man United manager Erik ten Hag says his players cannot afford to be lazy in their search for trophies.
As reported by the Man United website, the boss noted that while he is happy with the current displays, laziness cannot slip into his players, as laziness results in a decline in performances.
The Red Devils have won their last six matches at Old Trafford, helping them climb to fourth place in the Premier League table.

Ten Hag has been central to the club’s upturn in form, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Christian Eriksen enjoying rich form under the manager.
But Ten Hag wants his entire squad to be constantly switched on in their search for glory this season. As mentioned, they sit fourth in the Premier League, while they remain in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League.
“We want to be resilient and we want to be playing with discipline in our game, we expressed that with 11 in attack and 11 in defence,” said Ten Hag.
“It’s about doing your job, being hard to beat in every duel as a team, in every game, and we are heading in the right direction.
“So we are happy with that, but we can’t be satisfied as we don’t want any laziness and laziness means the performances will drop.
“So we have to keep focused and keep improving on details and keep getting better every day because good is not good enough.”
Ten Hag keen to strengthen squad
Ten Hag has previously spoken about his ambitions in the current transfer window, but this time noted that the club is ‘always looking for better.’
World Cup players such as Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Antony have all returned in recent weeks, helping restore some balance to the squad.
The Man United boss is, however, keen to have a better balance, explaining that Man United will turn to the transfer window if the right opportunity presents itself.
“Definitely we have a good squad and especially in this moment we have a good team,” said Ten Hag. “But there are so many games coming and we need a squad for that and also to get a better balance in the squad, we are aiming for that. We are always looking for better.
“We are orientating and we are making an effort to strengthen the squad, but I can’t tell you anything about it in this moment. When we can do, we will do it straight away.”
Man United boss only thinking about trophies
Ten Hag also touched on his recent accomplishments, which included joining the Red Devils in the summer, as well as lifting the 2021/22 Eredivisie title with Ajax.
When asked what his high points from 2022 were, Ten Hag replied: “It’s always about trophies. It’s not about looking too much to yourself, it’s about looking to your family and looking to trophies.
“That’s what I did and always will do, so looking back, I’m happy and I’m happy with my family – we are satisfied and settled in Manchester so I’m happy with that.
“But when I look at sporting [highlights] then it’s definitely trophies and that is also what we aim for in 2023.”
