30-year-old Romelu Lukaku’s career is stagnating. No one can deny that. The Belgian goalscorer has spent the last two years searching for a place to call home. His long-anticipated return to Stamford Bridge didn’t prove successful at all, as Lukaku scored only eight goals in 26 official games in the 2021/22 Premier League season.

The new Chelsea board decided to send him on a season-long loan at his former club Inter Milan. Scoring 10 times and assisting six in 25 games may sound like a top-notch display, but compare it to his previous two seasons with the Nerazzurri jersey, and you’ll see that he didn’t quite perform well in his second stay.

Furthermore, Romelu Lukaku stirred up quite the kerfuffle during the summer of 2023. Reports have it that the Belgian player offered himself to Inter Milan’s arch-rivals Juventus. As interested as the Old Lady was, the Agnelli family couldn’t afford him. After all, Juventus already have an established finisher. Dusan Vlahovic will likely stay in Turin which means there’d be no sense in signing a second similar player. Adding Lukaku would certainly break the bank.

However, despite the negotiations failure, there is still time for the Chelsea outcast to join the 36-time Serie A champions. But is Juventus the only club interested in Romelu Lukaku’s talent? Certainly not! Let’s see which other teams are keen on having the player for the 2023/24 campaign!

Romelu Lukaku next club odds

Tottenham – 5/4

It’s not that Juventus have cooled down on their desire to poach Lukaku, it’s just that Tottenham are in dire need of a striker at the moment. After Harry Kane swapped London for Munich on a Bundesliga record-breaking £100m deal, coach Ange Postecoglou is forced to search for a suitable replacement.

In the opening Premier League game against Brentford, we saw Brazilian Richarlison lead Spurs’ charge against coach Thomas Frank. The game at Brentford Community Stadium ended 2-2, but Richarlison didn’t make much of an impact, as this is not his typical role.

Chairman Daniel Levy is eager to bring Romelu Lukaku to Tottenham. Spurs reportedly already reached out to Chelsea with an inquiry about Lukaku’s availability. American businessman Todd Boehly will probably want approximately €40m for his player, but that’s not a number Tottenham can’t afford.

To stay at Chelsea – 3/1

With time running out, there’s a high probability that Romelu Lukaku won’t be able to find a new club. Staying at Chelsea through the 2023/24 campaign would most definitely mean the 30-year-old will spend the season on the bench.

Being Nicolas Jackson’s substitute is not something the Belgian international is ready to be, so staying at Chelsea, although still a possibility, is less likely than Lukaku leaving the club.

Juventus – 7/2

We mentioned earlier that Juventus have given up on trying to sign Lukaku, but Todd Boehly might be ready to accept a less tempting bid for the 30-year-old’s services, as Chelsea already spent a fortune on new signings this summer.

Selling Lukaku would not only add €30-40m to the club’s treasury, but the Blues from London will also be free from Lukaku’s staggering wage.

If you are to look at it from a financial point of view from Juventus’ perspective, such a deal is also quite plausible. Sure, the Agnelli family will have to pay big money for Chelsea’s striker, but Lukaku is a very recognizable name. Lukaku’s shirts would sell like hot cakes should he join Juventus this summer.
