Liverpool were able to stage a stunning recovery and claim a victory against Newcastle at St James’s Park. Even more impressive was Liverpool being able to pick up three points even when playing with 10 men for most of the game. There has been sufficient recovery time for the Reds since then and manager Jurgen Klopp is also delighted about being able to keep Mohamed Salah is plenty of transfer rumours on deadline day.

However, the Midlands outfit are expected to get a sizeable jump in competition when they go up against Liverpool at Anfield this weekend. Since the season began with a 5-1 thumping from Newcastle, Aston Villa have picked up four consecutive victories even whilst missing a number of players.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery continues to have a long injury list to overcome. There are no new fresh injury problems for the team, which continue to remain without Philippe Coutinho and Jacob Ramsey because of thigh and ankle injuries respectively. Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia remain as the long-term injury worries for the team. Unai Emery may also be without Emiliano Martinez, who has a calf problem that could keep him out of the game. Alex Moreno is another doubt for the match due to a thigh injury. Even though Clement Lenglet has been picked up on a loan deal from Barcelona on transfer deadline day, he may not feature in this upcoming match.
