Kylian Mbappe has expressed his anger at PSG regarding a promotional video from the club in which he is heavily featured.
The video promotes the club’s season ticket renewals, but Mbappe is now seeking to protect his image rights as he doesn’t want to be the centre-piece of the video.
PSG’s phenomenal squad includes several world-class stars, including Lionel Messi and Neymar, but Mbappe is undoubtedly the club’s most prized asset.
Mbappe angered over video
The attacker’s incredible contract has garnered plenty of media attention, with Mbappe seemingly having plenty of pull in many decisions behind the scenes at PSG.
But the young forward clearly didn’t have much say in the latest promotional video, with Mbappe upset at how heavily involved he is.
“I just took part in the viewing of the club’s re-subscription campaign for the 23-24 season,” said Mbappe, as quoted by LiveScore. “At no time was I informed of the content of the interview.
“It looked like a basic interview during a club marketing day. I don’t agree with this published video. That’s why I’m fighting for the right to the individual image.
“PSG is a big club and a big family, but it is especially not Kylian Saint-Germain.”
Poor run for PSG
Despite Mbappe’s star performances in the final third this season, PSG have witnessed their lead at the top of Ligue 1 slip to just six points.
They have lost three of their last four matches in all competitions, with the Paris-based outfit losing at home to both Rennes and Lyon in their last two league games.
The other recent loss came against German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.
Mbappe will be desperate to shine once again on the trip to Nice this weekend, with the attacker hopeful that his latest issue with the club can be resolved as soon as possible.
But there will be no guarantees for the star-studded PSG side, with their upcoming opponents currently chasing a European spot.
Mbappe future uncertain
Mbappe has long been linked with an exit from the French capital, with Spanish outfit Real Madrid reportedly coming close to his signature not so long ago.
But the star forward has committed his future to PSG until 2025, with boss Christophe Galtier and indeed everyone associated with the club keen for the attacker to keep his word.
If he does leave, it will undoubtedly take one of the biggest fees in world football to land his services, with Madrid perhaps one of the only clubs able to afford such a fee.
The PSG star boasts a phenomenal 31 goals from his 34 appearances in all competitions this season, as well as chipping in with eight assists.
He has hit 19 goals in Ligue 1, with seven coming in the Champions League and his other five coming in a single Coupe de France match.
And the current season has also involved his 2022 World Cup heroics, with the France icon clinching the Golden Boot thanks to his eight goals, which included a stunning hat trick in the final against Argentina.
