Tottenham’s dismantling at the hands of Newcastle United and Liverpool fuelled speculation about Harry Kane’s future. Spurs’ have continued to spurn silverware opportunities and the captain has been linked with a move away from North London.
With Manchester City upping the ante with Erling Haaland’s acquisition, crosstown rivals’ links with the England captain have increased. Erik ten Hag has relied on Marcus Rashford for goals and needs a genuine goal threat to make the next jump with the Red Devils.
Critics and pundits have given Kane their blessing to seek a move away in search of trophies. However, it seems the 29-year-old wants to solidify his claim as a Tottenham great with silverware success at his boyhood club.

Still to redeem the campaign
Antonio Conte’s ousting has seen Spurs go from fighting for top four to a battle for sixth place. Brighton has three games in hand and trails them by two points. If the Seaguls overtake them, Tottenham will be left scrapping with Aston Villa for the final European slot.
Kane is unfazed by the situation and shared his belief that they are masters of their own destiny. He acknowledged the threat posed by Brighton’s success which requires them to give their all in the remaining three matches of the campaign.

United need a prolific striker
Tottenham’s victory over Crystal Palace was their first in five games. If Spurs do not arrest their decline, the vultures will start circling them in North London. Manchester United will be the first to make enquiries as they fail to impress in front of the goal.
The Red Devils have drawn blanks in their last two matches, tasting defeat on both occasions. Moreover, with just three goals in their last six outings across all competitions, they need an attacker to complement Marcus Rashford in the front three.
Bruno Fernandes made a plea to his teammates about their pedantic form in front of the goal, asking for proficiency in hitting the back of the net.
