Juventus vs Lazio Predicted Lineups: Allegri under pressure following Paul Pogba controversy

Juventus host Lazio at the Allianz stadium as the Serie A returns following the international break.

The home side will be looking to reach the top of the table after picking up three points in their previous game against Empoli, thanks to goals from Danilo and Federico Chiesa.

Lazio are looking to build on their victory over a strong performance that saw the Italian side gain an important three points over Napoli last weekend.

Juventus vs Lazio: Team News

The home side are currently sitting in third place after two wins and a draw in their first three games of the league season. In-form Dušan Vlahović will be looking to add to his strong start to the season.

Lazio are currently sitting 12th, having fallen to defeats in their first two games of the season, before an unlikely victory over Napoli gave them their first three points of the season.

Juventus are without Mattia De Sciglio and Paul Pogba. De Sciglio is out with a knee injury whilst the Frenchman, Pogba, has been suspended following a positive drug test, showing raised testosterone levels after Juventus’s previous match.

The away side have a fully fit squad heading into the clash, giving Sarri options across the pitch. New signing Matteo Guendouzi could make his first start for the club in midfield.

Lazio (4-3-3): Provedel; Marusic, Casale, Romagnoli, Hysaj; Kamada, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.

Although the Bianconeri lost their most recent league meeting with the Biancocelesti – a 2-1 reverse in April’s clash at Stadio Olimpico, they had secured four wins and two draws in the teams’ previous six encounters, so the precedent is certainly on the home teams side this weekend.

With the history between the two teams, the clash is set to be lively with high scoring, likely with both sides’ attacking nature when approaching a game.
