Jurgen Klopp has provided Liverpool fans with a transfer update as the Reds seek to turn their season around.
As reported by BBC Sport, the Liverpool manager said he must strengthen his current squad, but noted that it is difficult to achieve that this month.
The Merseyside outfit are struggling in the league this season, currently sitting ninth in the table. They are also out of the League Cup after losing to Manchester City in the round of 16 last month.
The club are, however, in the Champions League last 16 and just about still in the FA Cup. In the latter, they face a third round replay against Wolves this evening after drawing 2-2 at Anfield earlier this month.
Klopp takes responsibility for struggles

Liverpool have won just eight of their 18 league matches this season, with the latest – a 3-0 hammering by Brighton on Saturday – seeing Klopp apologise to supporters.
The result has increased fan frustration, with many followers of the club urging the powers that be to bring in some new faces this month.
Klopp has now offered an update to supporters, saying: “We look outside as well. It’s not that we’re stubborn and think, ‘We’ll go with these boys until 2050.’ That’s not how we see it.
“It is all about what you can do and what you want to do – but much more important what you can do.
“If solutions for us were out there, available and doable of course we would bring in players to help but we have an existing squad as well and we are under-performing, I know that.
“But I can’t sit here and blame the players every time. It is my responsibility that they perform.”
Liverpool squad is ‘not too small’
The Liverpool boss continued by confirming that while his squad is not too small, there is still the need to strengthen his options.
But somewhat frustratingly to many Reds fans, the manager noted that now is not looking like the right time that such strengthening can be done.
“Yes we have limited options but we have players with a contract here, they are just not available,” said Klopp. “If they would be all-in it would be a different situation.
“Our squad is not too small. Do we have to strengthen? Oh yes. Is this the right moment to do it? I can’t see it because of the situation we are in. The situation doesn’t change, even though we lost another game since the last news conference.”
Klopp says Reds must be more compact
Following the defeat at Brighton, Liverpool have now conceded eight goals in their last three matches in all competitions. Klopp’s men have also lost three of their last six matches.
While it won’t be a quick fix, the manager is seemingly aware of where his team is going wrong.
“We have to be more compact,” said Klopp. “The pitch looks too big when we are defending. You have to go back to basics and from there you can make steps.
“We have to do some things slightly different and some things the same. All the success in football starts with solid defending and that’s what we have to do again.”
