Team news: Hull
Hull were poor in their first 2 matches of the season but they found their feet in recent weeks and recorded back-to-back wins. Last weekend edged ten-men Blackburn 2-1. Didn’t play particularly well but did enough.
Hull are also making some very good moves on the transfer market in recent days and Twine impressed a lot on his debut last weekend. Connolly has been sensational off the bench too. He has scored 3 goals in the last 2 games, despite the fact that all of his appearances so far have been off the bench.
Inner midfielder Docherty is the only serious absentee right now. Winger Sayyadmanseh is fully fit again and pushes for a start. So does Connolly. However, both have made a good impact off the bench lately and this is how they might continue to be used.
Hull Predicted Lineups (4-2-3-1):
Ingram – Coyle, Jones, McLoughlin, Greaves – Slater, Seri – Traore, Tufan, Twine – Delap
Team news: Bristol City
Bristol City were very poor last weekend when losing 0-2 at home vs Birmingham. Lacked cutting edge and trusting youngster Bell to lead the attack as a false nine didn’t work. Bristol earned 4 points from their first 2 matches and despite still waiting for a clean sheet they have been solid before this most recent showing.
There are serious selection headaches for Pearson ahead of this match with as many as 5 potential starters set to miss. Centre-back Dickie misses suspended. Naismith is ready to step in so that is not a major issue. The big summer signing McCrorie and the main centre forward Conway are much more serious absentees though. In the absence of the latter veteran Wells might lead the attack from the off now.
Captain Weimann got hurt in the curtain opener and has been absent since. He’s back training though and might be available for this match.
Bristol City Predicted Lineups (4-3-3):
O’Leary – Tanner, Vyner, Naismith, Pring – James, Williams, Knight – Mehmeti, Wells, Bell
Will Andreas Weimann play for Bristol City?
Bristol’s captain Andreas Weimann missed a few games with a foot injury. He has returned to training this week though and according to his manager, a late decision will be made regarding his involvement. Weimann could be used off the bench too, he scored 4 goals last season as a sub.
