Fulham have committed to providing head coach Marco Silva with substantial support ahead of the next transfer window in order to keep the manager at Craven Cottage.

According to a new report by soccer outlet Football Insider, the Cottagers will pull out all the brakes in contract negotiations to keep Silva, as Tottenham are keen in making him their next manager.

Silva to Receive Sizeable Budget

If the former Everton and Watford manager chooses to remain at Craven Cottage, Fulham will reportedly provide him with a sizable summer budget.

Silva’s future will also depend on retaining the club’s current talents.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, Joao Palhinha, Willian, and Andreas Pereira are seen as crucial members of a Fulham squad that is vying for a European spot this season.

It had been reported late last month that the Cottagers were also prepared to extend the contract of veteran winger Willian, whose current term expires in June.

Reports suggest that despite interest from Newcastle and Man City, the Londoners are in a strong position to sign USA left-back Antonee Robinson to a new contract.

Mitrovic has scored 11 goals and contributed two assists in 21 league games this season, while playmaker Pereira has scored two goals and dished out six assists.

Currently, Silva’s contract is set to expire in June 2024 but the club want to keep him much longer following this season’s success.

Silva has refused to comment on the rumors tying him to the potential management vacancy at Tottenham should Antonio Conte depart.

The coach maintains that he is quite content in his current position.

It is understood that the Portuguese is not at the top of Spurs’ list of prospective Conte replacements, but that might alter if their top candidates decline the position.

Fulham and Brighton are tied on points in the fight for the seventh and final European Conference League spot.

Fulham to Swoop for Championship Striker

Also reported is that Fulham intend to revive their pursuit of Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer.

The Cottagers attempted to acquire the 24-year-old attacker in January, but the Championship club rejected their offer.

Fulham are planning to make a second attempt to sign the Swedish international in the summer, with manager Marco Silva looking to offer competition for Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Due to the fact that Gyokeres’ contract is slated to expire in 2024, Coventry have reduced their asking price to £10-12 million out of concern that he may depart on a free transfer.

Sunday, February 26th, Football Insider sources reported that Leeds United, Everton, and Bournemouth are also interested in signing Gyokeres this summer.

This season, Gyokeres has emerged as one of the most promising players in the Championship, scoring 16 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions.

His 15 league goals in 2022/23 rank him second in the Championship, behind only Middlesbrough’s Chuba Akpom (19).

Gyokeres began his career in Sweden with IF Brommapojkarna and transferred to England in 2018 after impressing Brighton scouts.

Gyokeres, however, made only eight senior games for the Seagulls and spent the majority of his three years on the south coast on loan.
