France World Cup Finalist Tells of ‘Dream’ Move to Man United

Randal Kolo Muani has acknowledged that his aim is to play for a major club, citing his impressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt.

This season, the 24-year-old has recorded 16 goals and 14 assists, garnering the attention of the Red Devils. After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November, United manager Erik ten Hag is expected to seek out a new striker this summer.

The Dutchman’s top priority is Harry Kane, but Tottenham’s reported £100 million price tag for the England captain is prompting a search for alternatives. Muani has emerged as a potential candidate as a result of his remarkable campaign.

Now it appears that the Frenchman has opened the door for a transfer to Old Trafford. Muani is now on international duty ahead of France’s first Euro 2024 qualifying matches, and he has revealed his aspirations for the future.

“We talk about it a lot already, but I try to be focused on my club. We continue our performances and we will see this summer. Afterwards, I always dreamed of playing in big clubs,” Muani told L’Equipe when asked about the reports linking him with a departure from Frankfurt.

“I thought I was going to need some time to adapt, maybe a year. But everything exploded. Either way, I’m ready for any challenge,” he stated, “I ask the club to get me my statistics on my matches each time.”

“I share this with my physical trainer to know what to improve. I do a lot of goals and assists, but it’s not at the level where I should be. I still miss quite a bit. This is only my third (full) season as a pro.”

Last week, it was rumored that Man United are preparing a £105 million offer to deliver to Frankfurt in order to recruit Muani.

SportBild reports that Manchester United are in the lead to sign him and are prepared to make him their record signing.

Even though he has four years remaining on his contract at the Waldstadion, Frankfurt would be unable to refuse such an offer for their star forward.

Muani has also switched agencies within the past few months.

His former representatives MDC claimed in December that he intended to remain in Frankfurt beyond the summer. Nevertheless, he is currently represented by Moussa Sissoko, not the former Tottenham player who is believed to be eager to broker a transfer.

Matthaus Believes Muani is a ‘Future Superstar’

Muani has received tremendous accolades since exploding onto the scene this season with Frankfurt. The German legend Lothar Matthaus also hailed him as a “future superstar” after he was called up to the France squad for the 2022 World Cup.

“He is a major asset for the Bundesliga. He has remarkable technical ability, he’s ice-cold in front of goal and he really throws himself into challenges,” he told L’Equipe.

“The most impressive thing is that he’s performing in every game. I can’t remember a match where he’s played badly. That’s the mark of a future superstar.”
