PSG star Neymar has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury, much to the delight of former France international Christophe Dugarry.
Dugarry, who made 55 appearances for Les Bleus, has voiced his opinion on the injury to the Brazilian star, and has not held back on how he views Neymar overall.
The attacker has been ruled out for the rest of the season, suffering the injury in last month’s Ligue 1 meeting with Lille.
Former France international happy about Neymar injury

Neymar has been in fine form this season, scoring 18 goals and registering 17 assists from his 29 matches in all competitions. But despite such form, ex-Bordeaux and Marseille forward Dugarry is relieved to see the Brazilian sidelined for the foreseeable future.
As per LiveScore, he believes that PSG are better off without Neymar, with the French giants having a better chance of success with only duo Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.
PSG have won both of their matches since his injury, where Messi and Mbappe led the line in a 3-5-2 formation for Christophe Galtier’s side.
“I’m happy for PSG that Neymar is injured,” said Dugarry, as per LiveScore. “I think this is an incredible opportunity for Galtier. The team is much more balanced with five defenders and Mbappe and Messi up front.”
Dugarry added: “Hugo Ekitike has shown that he is still not at the desired level and the other attackers are also mediocre.”
Dugarry ‘can’t stand’ Neymar
There has been much talk regarding the future of Neymar, with the attacker linked with an exit from Paris this summer, with the likes of Premier League club Chelsea and La Liga side Barcelona reportedly interested.
But his current season on the pitch is certainly over, with the winger set to miss around four months due to undergoing surgery in Doha. The Brazil icon has received much praise and criticism during his career so far, with ex-France striker Dugarry standing firmly on the side of the latter.
Speaking further on the winger, Dugarry noted: “I can’t see him anymore, I can’t stand him anymore. I can’t stand his dribbling and that attitude. I don’t want to see him on the field anymore, I’m tired!”
PSG to miss Neymar?
As mentioned, PSG have been successful in their two games without the Brazilian, defeating Marseille and Nantes 3-0 and 4-2 respectively. Moreover, both Mbappe and Messi have been in scintillating form this season, hitting goal tallies of 30 and 18 respectively.
And while the French outfit look set to see out Ligue 1 without the need for Neymar, they could perhaps do with all the firepower they can in tonight’s Champions League round of 16 second leg encounter with Bayern Munich. The German giants, who host PSG at Allianz Arena, won the first leg 1-0 in Paris last month.
PSG sit comfortably at the top of Ligue 1, eight points ahead of second-placed Marseille, but the Champions League is undoubtedly the trophy they want to lift more than any other. Tonight’s fixture represents a repeat of the 2020 Champions League final, which Bayern won 1-0.
