Everton vs Fulham Predicted Lineups and News

Team news: Everton

Everton are still one of only six clubs that have never been relegated from the Premier League since it was created in 1992. The Toffees couldn’t have been closer last season though. Only on the final day of the campaign safety was secured.

The old-fashioned and very controversial Sean Dyches took the job permanently over the summer months after guiding the team to safety. Dyches is known for his old-fashioned approach and desire to use two lines of 4 on the pitch no matter who’s the opponent.

The Toffees are very short on cash and this explains that their main signing this summer has been the 38-year-old Young. With not much quality in the ranks, Everton will focus on their home matches in search of points.

Everton already have some serious injury issues too. All of McNeil, Alli and Coleman are missing the game. All would have been potential starters if fit. Also, the team’s best centre-back Tarkowski and winger Danjuma are rated as doubtful.

Everton Predicted Lineups (4-4-1-1):

Pickford – Patterson, Keane, Tarkowski, Young – Garner, Gueye, Onana, Doucoure – Iwobi – Calvert-Lewin

Team news: Fulham

Fulham achieved an unexpected top-10 finish last season and the ex-Everton boss Marco Silva showed great skill at extracting the best out of his players. Fulham also won comfortably 3-1 vs Everton back in April when they travelled to Goodison Park.

Despite all that, it has been an unsettled summer for the Cottagers. Their two main forward stars Willian and Mitrovic haven’t played much in pre-season as they are both close to moving to Saudi Arabia. Fulham seem to have accepted that fact and they already signed replacements in Raul Jimenez and Calvin Bassey.

The main injury issues are in the heart of the midfield. Palhinha is out with an injury, while veteran Cairney is a major doubt. This could see Lukic getting a rare start.

Fulham Predicted Lineups (4-2-3-1):

Leno – Tete, Ream, Diop, Robinson – Reed, Lukic – Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Willian – Jimenez

Will Aleksandar Mitrovic play today?

Fulham’s leading striker for the past 6 years Mitrovic, 109 league goals for Fulham in those 6 years, is in theory available to play. However, he has featured in just 20 minutes of pre-season football and is very likely to be leaving the club for Saudi Arabia very soon. With that in mind, we don’t think he will start the game. Mitrovic could make an appearance off the bench though and if this is his final appearance for the club he will surely want to make an impact.
